XP x64 BF2 patch 1.5 issues. (I Need Help)

Hi all I have the BF2 Deluxe Edition and I'm trying to figure out how to get my game installed and running properly in order to play the new free maps in patch 1.5 and also run PR 087 in Single & Mulit Player modes.

I'm new here so plese go easy on me.

I recently installed a clean copy of BF2 Deluxe Edition again on a clean OS install and then ran the updated patches 1.41 followed by the 1.50 followed by the 1.41 patch again. I ran the PR 086 core then the 087 patch. I get a message saying I need to install PR 086 first. Will this happen because I did not install the PR 086 Levels yet?

I'm trying to understand the proper steps to install the game from scratch to current version all patched up properly and am feeling like I have taken on to much in the last two days just to get my clean/fresh BF2 install all up to date and running correctly.

I'm using XP x64 SP2 and I noticed the first time I ran BF2 before any patches the game it was stuttering spuratically while loading the game. I was able to stop this by rebooting my system and disabling my Avast virus scanner and not running any other apps like 3DMark06. I'm basically on a new build w/a clean/fresh OS install. I also noticed this stuttering or spuratic freezing after my updtes from 1.41/1.50 as well.

For some reason I can not figure out how to determine if the extra maps from BF2 patch 1.50 are installed properly. How can I determine if all the new maps are installed properly?

Any advice is more then appriciated.

Remove BF2 of your computer again and all mods etc...
Battlefield 2
1. Install BF2 again on your Comp.
2. Download & Install BF2 1.41 Patch.
3. Download & Install BF2 1.5 Patch.
Project Reality MP
1. Download & Install PR 0.87 CORE.
2. Download & Install PR 0.87 LEVELS.
Project Reality SP
1. Download & Install PRSP 0.87 CORE.
2. Download & Install PRSP 0.87 LEVELS

Done, That is all you need to run BF2/PR.

Thank you Mad-Mike for the very cut and dry and right to the point details on what I need to do to get it all working.

One of the other problems I am having is knowing if I got my 1.50 installed correctly. I guess i'll have to do some more research on that subject.

I now realize that I need the core and levels for both PR 087 and PR SP 087.

Uninstalling games can be such a pita. I have had to unistall Need For Speed HS several times in order to get it working properly on this x64 OS. That's a whole other off topic discussion that we don't need though, I just find it relating to uninstalling process you mention and figured I would share my frustrations.
