But, only allow certain officer kits to use them
your probs all thinking what...??
but while i was playing i found that armor squads often get members that join and leave and they are often stuck with a non manable tank out in the open.So i think that there should be a crewman officer kit, it can drive tanks etc. but it will be the only kit able to place rallies and should be limted to 4 per team or so.Also it should not be able to build anything, nor should it be able to be picked up by anyone.
kit equipment:
-knife
-pistol
-smokes (3 or so)
-2 feild dressings
-GLTD
having fewer wepons should stop people using the crewmen officer kit also the limt will help stop that as well as not being able to build.
abilities:
-Able to place rallies
-Not able to build anything
-Able to drive all crewman needed vechicals
-Able to send laser targets
-Kit not allowed to be picked up
-No cooldown/countdown limit to requesting another
EDIT:
-Should be requestible from crates,apc's and tanks(tanks if possible like can you make it so only that kit can be requested)

I see a big flaw here. Armor personal will abuse it. Using the rally to scout all the time with no hassle of dying, just set a rally, etc.

Players flaking out is not a reason to change the system. Crewman never needed rallies before, but why now? Sure they could request and officer kit off APC before to set rally(never tried with a tank, can you?), but if they are removing rallies for inf they will remove rallies for everyone, considering the rally was never intended for tank crews in the beginning.

Most often when you are playing and manning tanks, the players joining squads are often not able to spawn on your rally, because they are already alive. Really makes this need for the rally null.

yes because of realism aspects as in real life you wouldn't have your driver just disapear so i think a Tank commander kit would be usful for this.

I could live whit a kit like that but having it as a spawnable kit doesnt sound wise

okay i have just seen a problem hold on.
okay it should be abel to be requested from apc's as well and i'm not sure if you can make it so that you can request it from tanks also? but anyway
this would stop people from steeling the kit from other players (drivers often get out to hear for other tanks etc.) this way it will be like the civi kit but officer orintated

I despise the no-rally idea. It completely sent teamwork down the drains. On some maps, after the enemy captures a single point (e.g Sunset City) and FOBs become hell to construct because the enemy camps at certain positions making it impossible for people to build. Shortening the build time would help this, but keeping rally points is just so much better. Perhaps there should be a marker to place on hostile rallies to make it easier to destroy them.

Concerning the officer kit, I observed a lot of people abusing it and using it to become a spotter for air support or snipers. They would create a new squad with another guy and request an officer kit. I think that there should be a spotter kit which is essentially a guy that carries the ACOG rifle, but with less ammunition and a GTLD Binoc, or just something to laze targets.
