[Win7X64] Audio

Hey guys,

instald Windows 7 Home premium X64 today, all good but i cant get my audio working over SPIF optical. Has any 1 here a idea ? What to do? Ive run out of idea's

IT works on my PS3, the problem i dont get a singal over the SPDIF, (no reglicht when i unplug the cable from the SCU, it did work on Vista. I can select SPDIF optical etc, but i dont get a signal, tested whit 2 optical cable's and both work on my PS3.


The driver is :

SoundMAX AD1988B Audio Driver V6.10.2.6585 for 64bit Windows 7.(WHQL) ( it is Beta according Asus)

did you isntall this after os install? As Win 7 is pretty good at driver updates from the off, and may of already isntalled one which you then installed over?

Causing conflicts?

Try a driver clean up, get a program called drivercleaner.net then unsinatll, run that prog, reboot, reinstall driver, reboot, see if that helps.

When i instald 7 it did not work also, hence i did not had any audio at all, untill i instald the driver from ASUS. But otical still not working, altougt 7 is showing sound output w/o drivers but there aint a siganal(starts to think his Mobo is dead )

Have you tried the non beta version man?

No i jump'd in whit the OEM version from the shop, no warez just a legit copy

windows is the same like a good looking girl, the look awsome but always have bad habbits.

Can download a RC but i would say if it works in a RC in works in the FV

No, they only have beta drivers atm.

One question, was Vista x64?

No Vista was x32 but i did run X64 for 1 week or so... but it work

Answer Technical guys:

Motherboard is not yet support whit drivers for windows7, and the audio drivers that are out are beta ....

indeed, a bit lazy from ASUS ... whas hoping for soem more and beter information, like why is Optical not working hence it shut be supported in the first beta driver ...
