an idea that failed includes scripting a mumble type progam into PR which we know the viop system is pretty hardcoded and is probly not going to happen.
SO.... wouldnt it be possible to work mumble through a system like the PR spy??
have mumble running in the background with PR.
connect the two through programing so it allows you to always be connected to mumble.
For example.
when you install the PR mod onto your computer the new mumble program is included in the package core download.
when you start up PR. mumble loads into the main menu with all the servers. when you start up a server the mumble progam will pick up which server you enter and direct your mumble account to the server you had just entered. next. the program could determine what team you are on. either Team 1 or Team 2.
***This way you are always connected to mumble. people who dont know what mumble is BUT still have a microphone can now hear mumble users and communicate with them through VIOP. what they dont know cant hurt them.***
mainly mumble just isnt advortised enough untill a few players start talking about it on the servers then it gets the people who Dont know about interested.
i think if this idea can be worked out and scripted mumble would make PR a better place for all players . ^_^
Sadly i am not a programer and i have not the slightest clue on how to progam somthing like this. but possibly some one who had experiance with this sort of stuff can shed some light on the subject
