New Game Mode: Platoon Houses.

Ok, another game mode idea based around insurgency :D

As most people here (especially those who have served in Afghanistan/Iraq) probably know, alot of combat in Afghan is around the district centres/FOBs, with the Taliban attacking and NATO troops defending, E.G. Sangin, Now Zad, Musa Queleh, and I'm sure there are similar places that other NATO troops serve in (I only know a few of the UK ones).

So I was thinking that we should have a game mode which symbolises this.

Maps which are centred around the NATO "Main Bases" where the Taliban are trying to over run the position.

The Objective for the Taliban would be to Over Run the base, reducing NATO tickets to 0 or capturing the command post.

The Objective for the NATO troops would be to hold out and Reduce the Taliban Tickets to 0, at which point the Taliban must withdraw.

There could also be weapon caches that when destroyed give 10 tickets to the NATO troops and reduce 10 tickets from the Taliban, and there should be 6ish, so the Taliban have enough places to re-arm but they don't become the main objective.

This Probably needs alot more thinking through, but it would be nice to have a game mode like this.

this is pretty easy to do by making the british main base cappable really, just needs the map to do it on.

I remmeber when bAsrah's VCP was cappable, those were intense fights (if the Taliban got it they bled the Brits)

Yeah but a few main bases are really far out of the way e.g. Al Basrah/Karbala/Ramiel, but Al Basrah and Ramiel have got a few cool outpost places.

Wait a minute... What would actual objectives be? Flags, cache type or something else? More specific description please, btw looks some what intresting game mode.

I dont like it if you thinking of double assault cache mode where bolth teams have ~10 caches to defend and destroy.

The Main Objective should be the Taliban have to take the BLUFOR "Main Base" or if one side is reduced to 0 tickets.

The caches are there as a little "side objective" which will give one side or the other a slight advantage, like the outpost on Korengal valley. If the Blufor take out all the caches then the Taliban won't have any places to reload, and they get 5/10 tickets per cache they take down or something.

i never understood that, why have that uncapturable stuff, i mean in real combat there is no magic line when rounds are flying saying...oohhh noo you cant go there, its not dodgeball its combat, lol, i say do away with the no go areas and uncap stuff, if the enemy got that close then you deserve to lose, lol.

Because this isn't a real life - it's a game.

IRL the Insurgents can't sneak in a place an IED where the APCs spawn.

It does not sound too exciting only objective is defend/capture one flag. Side mission looks fun on paper, but who would endanger last spawn location by seeking caches!? Bolth teams must have their own uncaps so players dare to take a step.

Why not just complete reverse insurgent mode where Talibans attacks against coalition "caches"? Those caches could be FOB:s, radio/command rooms, radion towers, radar trailer, tents or whatever.

i was thinking about the exact same gameplay thing but having it set on the same kind of thing like outpost on the moutin on koregnal vall ey but alot bigger to make it accomidate 32 players and also having a place for an apache to spawn.

It's basically because in real combat, no base would be left unguarded.

In PR, we are restricted to 32-man teams. We barely have enough players to fill out designated roles, let alone base defense. Therefore, the domes-of-death were put into place to discourage base-rape.

Besides, there's not many people out there that enjoy defending their Main Base against that lone RPG gunner or an occasional suicide vehicle.

yeah, I meant it just needs new maps but the current coding can do it all :)

It does sound fun. Fighting around the VCP on Al Basrah was always fantastic, this would be even better.

Just make Korengal Outpost 10x bigger and 10x 1337er.
