Tap the forward assist? Im pretty sure we are taught to tap the magazine.....0331SgtSpyUSMC wrote:I always used a "Tap, Rack, Bang" technique. Once jammed: tap forward assist, rack the charging handle back, squeeze the trigger.2 shots later damn jammed again lol
On the same note, maybe the animations should be changed a little when reloading weapon. In my personal experience I have never tapped a forward assist when loading a new magazine, nor did it take me this long to reload under fire

See you around Brother. My last unit was 2/8.

Re: ASK A REAL INFANTRYMAN :)
none, unless your spec ops, your comon soldier on the battle feild dosent need it and its a waist of ammo. special operations carry them due to the fact that they are in a smaller unit and need the ability to lay down a heavy volume of fire to make the enemy keep there heads down or apear to be a larger force. your comon ground troop though would never have a full auto weapon unless its belt feed.ghost-recon wrote:how many people wear a M4 Full auto out of 100?

Re: ASK A REAL INFANTRYMAN :)
I was wondering... what is the standard formation of a fireteam (in-game, a 6-men fireteam = a squad) (I KNOW A FT is made of 4 people) when moving through open terrain, mountain terrain, open streets/cities?
And whatabout house clearance? You don't choke a grenade there right? Civis my be there eh?
And also, are ya going to Afghanistan? Cheers!
(Finally some on-topic (and one off-topic) questions!)

the formations:
un fortunatly it depends on some variables, but teh standars are: when in doubt bound, when in doubt "frag out" in game always frag every room, to show room clearing i would have to actualy work with your clan/team in game, witch im willing to do
when assaulting, split the squad into 2 teams assault and support(RM =any kit with a red dot or iron sites besides the medic.)
assault=Sl, RM,RM
support=AR,GL/MM,Med
wedge=open or slightly wooded areas, assaults, comonly used when traveling under cover of another squad. (squads should flip flop the patern when moving if moving with one squad behind the other.
----------@SL/TL
------@RM---@ GL
-@ AR----------@ medic
===========@ RM
line abreast= good for assaults, ambushes, defencive lines, support by fire line for another squad that is flanking or bounding forward.
RM----AR----SL/TL--MED--GL----RM
-@ ----@------@------@-----@-----@
dimond=protective postiure when you dont know where contact may come from or unit is alone

----------@AR---@GL
--------------@MED
colum=jungle or non open areas, tight ally ways
-----@SL/TL

Also, how do you feel about in-game assets and how they relate to the infantry?
Link to my thread on it
Do you feel that your assets such as MBTs and APCs should support the infantry, or that the infantry support the MBTs and APCs more?

Re: ASK A REAL INFANTRYMAN :)
If you look at the Korengal map, what would be your advice for the US force there? Would your approach ingame be different from real life and do you think the weapons under US posession are adequate to the situation?
