Suggestion [Weapon] M79 (buckshot)
Instead of giving the soldier both the FN Fal and an M79 with only smoke and HE rounds why not take out the FN FAL and replace it with Buckshot Rounds for the M79. Think about it, i mean why would a soldier be carrying 2 types of weapons.

If this was the case all we'd have to do is change 2-3 lines of coding and tada

Soldier with only m79 dont have a chance against player with rifle. He needs to reload m79 after every shot.

Re: Suggestion [Weapon] M79 (buckshot)
not true. a buckshot round is devastating at close ranges. and also look at the war they were most commonly used in: The Vietnam war, and in all the pics Ive seen the soldier only carries the M79 and nothing else, a pistol could be added to the kit but i dont really think its necessary. (PLZ dont take out the M79 and replace it with a M203 or GP25.....m79 are aowsim)

It's Not like the Insurgent RPG gunner has a chance against anyone else with small arms either.WilsonPL wrote:Soldier with only m79 dont have a chance against player with rifle. He needs to reload m79 after every shot.
I still think its a good idea.

That does seem like a reasonable substitution, as long as they have a reasonably large amount of ammo. A soldier with buckshot and HE would be far superior to the average soldier, because at any range except between 10m-30m they have an amazingly good area effect weapon. I think it's a great idea

Maybe because one is a niche and the other is meant to protect him? Or give him the firepower of his comrades. And its quite possible to carry both the M79 & another weapon, they just opted not to in Vietnam as the jungle + heavy stuff + leather boots = Bad

Even tho those are Special Ops (Green Berets, possibly Rangers?) you can clearly see he can carry both the M79, his standard combat pack and his M4.

a version of the m79 was used in the vietnam that actted like a pump action shotgun, being able to hold several 40mm grenades. why not use that?

The M79 was replaced with the M203 attachment because a soldier without a gun is just that; he doesn't have a gun. A rifle is far more effective than the M79 anyday.

Because the EX-41 was only used by the SEALs and is rare as hen's teeth.thedare wrote:a version of the m79 was used in the vietnam that actted like a pump action shotgun, being able to hold several 40mm grenades. why not use that?
While an interesting idea, a grenadier would always carry another weapon. I'm not sure what the SOP for the SADF (though for 32bn it was SOP to carry AKM, 7 mags, M79 & 20 rounds of HE, but they were SF) was, but in Vietnam M79 operators carried an M1911A1 in addition to the launcher. Perhaps a lighter weight weapon, such as the Uzi?
Rifle grenades might be an option worth considering.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Re: Suggestion [Weapon] M79 (buckshot)
there is a 20mm version that is used currently, but mainly for bean bags, smoke and CS gas ( would be good on insurgent maps

Were talking about the ARF, they dont have modern weapons and finances like the US military.Anhkhoa wrote: Even tho those are Special Ops (Green Berets, possibly Rangers?) you can clearly see he can carry both the M79, his standard combat pack and his M4.

Your confusing your weapons...ma21212 wrote:IDF, Bundeswehr, Canadian Forc., Dutch Forc., ADF, Norwegian Forc., (gettin tierd of lookin at design plans..) French Forces and NZDF ALL use Rifle GLs. no one uses a "regular" GL let alone the M79...
Rifle Grenade AKA. Grenade cartridge thing mounted on the muzzle of the rifle launched by a blank.
Underbarrel Grenade LauncherThis is what you think is a "rifle grenade". It is infact, a tube under the barrel of the weapon and has its own separate mechanism.
M79 A "regular" grenade launcher as you refer to it as.
What Bob is talking about is, all factions use the UGL (2nd pic) not a rifle grenade (1st) and how is using a rifle grenade not "variety". Simple misunderstanding.

We are talking about weapons for African Resistance Fighters, aren't we? Something tells me that they aren't going to have the most up to date weapons.ma21212 wrote:i see but no one uses those rifle gernades any more right? i remember that they were used untill WWII
