More hummers on insurgency maps

Post by -.-Maverick-.- »

In my opinion there should me more hummers on insurgency maps, there are two reasons for this.

1. When you are playing as the coalition, you could make more epic convoys, and movement would be enhanced.

2. When playing as an insurgent you would have more s*** to blow up :D , and there would be more ambushes.

Thoughts?

I like finding a really big hill and shooting all the insurgents using my optic, which far outranges them.

So I'm not a fan of more hummers really, I just don't think it's necessary.

Thats not really a reason..

I think what would be nice is a Insurgency map layer, where a team would only have Humvees as their transport.
But in different types; Transport, .50 cal, maybe even a TOW

I agree Arjan, would make rounds more fun on both sides, and possibly make the maps a bit quicker.

Ofc the risks of smacktards soling and losing tickets could offset it

I'm sure the amounts of Humvees and Land Rovers was reduced so people actually used team work instead of just soloing a humvee out to their squad.

tbh you can still have epic convoys of 2 Humvees and a logi truck with just 1 squad, works well on Fallujah, Ramiel, Karbala etc.

blame the people using them as one person taxis for the lack of them waiting in main for a squad to use.

Never had problem with "cabs"... I've once used the same HMMVV for almost a full round (we got RPGed right after we resupplied at Main in Karbala). There aren't so many smacktards, really. I think.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

I always use humvees when I'm SL in Ramiel and Archer. I've gone a whole round with the same Humvee, but I remember an incedent where one guy took it just to get to his squad... good thing one of my SM was still in the humvee. But I agree, Humvees are a great tactical weapon on insurgency maps, and it's something you can stick with all the time unlike strykers or black hawks.

Yea smacktards are always the problem, but that problem should be solved by the admins, how about lowering the spawn time.

Okay, I realize my earlier comment made very little sense, I was up all night. To be more clear, insurgency maps are ultimately about infantry combat, humvees are a resource, and they shouldn't be spammed willy-nilly.

There are plenty of humvees on the insurgent maps as long as everyone uses them in a reasonable way. Adding more humvees, or reducing their spawn times, will simply allow people to use them less realistically. Also, the coalition has enough trouble winning on insurgent maps as it is, they don't need any more ticket drain than they already have.

it looks great, but I want a 6th seat in my humvee. Because with a full squad there's always one man that have to walk. Maybe its possible to let him sit in the trunk or something. So you won't have a lot of people whining that they're left behind by their squad.

solution, a squad take 2 humvees and then transport a second squad. that way the dismounts are a full coms enabled squad being covered by another squad.

the first squad can even bring 3 humvess uncase one is taken out, or additional people need to be transported.

Actually, 6 seater humvees could be an easier solution. What Rudd said isn't something that can be implemented, it's something that needs to be taken on board by the members. (Which I don't see happening, we don't even have proper Stryker transport) Even though in real life Humvees are 5 - seaters, for gameplay's sake 6 would be great, as it would prevent one squad taking two and stopping another squad from using it.

Good idea , i hope the discussion continues...

I think a lot of people would want to be the "V.I.P" and take the job seriously... Which is a good thing

That is always a risk in this game, You simply cannot avoid it no matter what you do...damn noobs.

I agree completely. My clan has actually implemented something to take care of this though. 4 man squads only. Sure there is variability i.e. 3 or 5 in a squad, but it keeps things simple when we want to go hop in a humvee and shoot'em up.

Actually I guess I dont agree with you, even though it would save the gameplay, I think the face of the mod would suffer, after coming this far, if they made 6 seater HUMs

I don't really think 6 - seater humvees would be that]/i] radical... I mean if you look at the avarage server 90% of the infantry squads are made up of 6 people. I too commonly see 5 people in a humvee, and the SL ordering the last guy to 'recon' or basically telling one person to lone wolf.

Well then he should have thought of that before he became the odd man out. (Said with tongue planted in cheek)

In all seriousness, no squad should have a lone wolf. 32 players divided by four is eight. That is eight four man squads if there is no commander. 1 left over for ********* pilots and their awesome cobras.

My point is, you can always spread out squad members into various squads to accommodate HUM's.
