Un-nerf the ak-74u
Right now the ak-74u is so inaccurate and has so much recoil that is practical useless. In .85 is was very good but is wasn't over powering, it was great close range and pretty good medium range. Now I can barely hit a guy 10 feet in front of me. I see no reason to keep it nerfed considering the undeployed SAW is just as good as it was if not better.

Re: Un-nerf the ak-74u
I would only consider it nerfed if someone with first hand experience with the gun was to come on here and say that it is not accurately represented in pr. Maybe its closer to the real thing now than in .85, I cant say as ive never fired the gun.

Re: Un-nerf the ak-74u
I love the ak74 right now, it's phenomenally effective at close range, which is the only place insurgents have any place engaging regularly. Couple that with the at grenade they get, and I love to refer to it as the humvee killer class.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.
The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

I could sense I'd read that when I saw the thread title; in 0.85 it was bugged and had uber-accuracy which was not intended - sorry we removed the ability to fight on Russians maps by requesting Crewman kits and using the AK74U to headshot every Chechen.Nimise wrote:In .85 is was very good but is wasn't over powering

How can you call it nerfed? In CQB it just shreds everything in it's path, in a chechan map medics end up getting more kills inf wise because of it.

aggree with you there, i personaly have never used the gun but i don't think a gun which is basicly a small AK is giong to be effective at long range, i don't even think the normal AK's are any good at long range at all are they?[R-COM]Cheditor wrote:How can you call it nerfed? by AK's i mean them in general because i keep getting confused between them

Re: Un-nerf the ak-74u
I think making it have less recoil and a little more accuracy(but not as much as .85) would be a good compromise?

Based on what exactly? It's fairly close where it stands right now (and yes I have fired several).Nimise wrote:I think making it have less recoil and a little more accuracy(but not as much as .85) would be a good compromise?

Re: Un-nerf the ak-74u
I was mainly thinking about game play. There is no reason to use the ak-74u over other guns. Its not any better close range then the ak-74 and since its only usable close range that makes it pretty useless. I have seen more insurgents with US sniper kits then I have with the ak-74u. I just thought making it more accurate/less recoil would make it used more and more useful.[R-DEV]LeadMagnet wrote:Based on what exactly? its much better than the 74 in CQB
I generally use the 47 since it has longer range accuracy, but in those caves etc, i'll take a 74u

aks-74u has a phenominal rate of fire, which makes it very deadly in close ranges. Just remember to handle the recoil by pushing it down.
I , for one, enjoy it as much as this woman does.

Re: Un-nerf the ak-74u
I dont think the Aks74u is the problem. I think it's the fact that the LMGs are far superior in close quarters than the Aks74u is. Which just doesn't seem realistic to me.
But, there not much that can be done because most of the real life differences between the two weapons are not represented in game at all, like weight, size, ease of use, etc. I mean a soldier with a SAW can still spin around in circles just as fast as the guy with the AK. It sucks, another bf2 engine limitation ruining immersion/realism.

The AKS-74U was designed to be a personal defence weapon for crewman. It is renowned for having poor accuracy and high recoil.

As said, another horrible engine limitation. We can't modify infantry turn speed based on stance. In-fact, we can't modify un-sighted turn speed at all. It's only limit is how fast your mouse can goBellator wrote:Yes, especially when they can spin prone.

Re: Un-nerf the ak-74u
It seems like LMGs are better than they are IRL cuz u can deploy them anywhere/on anything, and they rape both in CQB and long range cuz of the 2 modes. ARs are less accurate than IRL and if u took ACOG, u'll suck in CQB, if u took aimpoint/irons u will phail long range. IRL u wouldnt have such a big prob with going CQB with ACOG cuz u can use it like the undeployed LMG mode and u it aint that hard to hit targets with irons IRL cuz the "resolution" is much bigger and the human eye can zoom a bit
lulwut, ak47 is supposed 2 be to less accurate than ak74. And aye, teh rate of fire on ak74u is epicsome!Dr2B Rudd wrote:its much better than the 74 in CQB

Re: Un-nerf the ak-74u
Sorry, I can totaly own infantry at close to medium range with the aks 74u. Just last night I took out 5 enemies at close range with it in a row on archer before the 6th got me with a grenade.
I also killed 4 enemies at ranges beyond 100 yards with relative ease, It's fine.
