More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

If the man is in stable condition and still fight, then he can still fight. I dont know how the Army does it, but Marines sit on their pain and just start firing. I was hit in the shin in Fallujah and still managed to fight for another half hour before I passed out from blood loss. So in answer to your question, Myles, plenty. Theres also plenty that are bleeding and require attention...so its hit and miss.

How often does an infantryman uses the Grenader Launcher in Real life?
Also, at what situations?
do they actually work together with a sniper team and the sniper team spots targets behind a fortified building/wall then they just go *plop* *boom*?

And...

What would be the best situation to use grenade launchers in game (always seems like if you crouch there for 2 seconds to plop a grenade on someone who is behind a wall, there would ALWAYS be an insurgent near you. (Even if your squad provides you cover... they just seem to get you before dying =.=)

we use them sparingly now especialy in built up areas with Civies running around. but in a conventional fight, there good for getting a HE round into a ditch or into a window, or behind a wall. same goes for in game, but since it has a ACOG in game i would keep it on your support by fire element of your squad with the medic and SAW gunner, while you and 2 rifle men with red dots assault the OBJ.

to deal with the blind side attack .....try a better security setup, maybe how your positioning your men has a hole in it? make shure that you have good cover also (solid cover not just from your guys). training with your clan over and over can help with this, also maybe finding some way to practice on a makshift range would help so you can get a accurate round off faster.
