Is the player view above your head?
Myself and a mate were playing about on my WIP map, and we were bayoneting eachother for lolz, and realised that when you bayonetted directly in to the players view (so the blade is coming directly at the camera) you weren't hitting them, you were stabbing thin air above their head.
So do we think we're taller ingame than we really area as a result etc? Its always a problem when you think you can fire a RPG over a wall and can't really etc

If thats the case i hope its changed because we have all had the HEDP/RPG to the face happen to us before.

I have a faint memory that in vBF2 the camera is in your chest. Maybe PR changed this, but a tad too much?

I thought it was in the chest? Hence all the getting shot while you think you're behind cover.

well, HATs etc seem to come from ur chest, but on asad kahl it seems like bullets come from above ur chest, as they can still shoot you without their gun actualyl being visible, but the view is definately above ur head.

To me the camera seems to be underneath the head only when crouching.
Though if it is true that while standing its above the head then it should be changed

It could also be a matter as to where the animation places the blade at the stab, and where the projectile emits from that could be creating that apparent misalignment.

Well, on a regular weapon, the "Round" (Which is really just coding and script, not treated as a actual object) comes out the center of the screen, which I have a feeling is the square center of your head. Or the position of which the game treats as your eyes. The Rockets might as well be a exception, where their coding will say otherwise.

I was under the impression we were fighting through a "helmet cam". The unscoped view is supposed to be our weapon at the shoulder, which gives us either a really long neck or a really tall head.

That was the kitty corner shot; you didn't realize it because you were absorbed in the cuteness.

Re: Is the player view above your head?
its gotta be in your chest and thats what makes it so hard to hide or something in battlefield. if your in a bush looking at something, to you it seems like you are submersed in the bush and are pretty hard to see but if some one running by looks at you they will see half of your body sticking out from the bush or over the edge of a building or what ever. then you back up untill they cant see your body any more but on your screen you now cant see anything because your really far back in the bush or far behind the ledge or whatever.
and bullets definitely dont go down the gun barrel because if you are running and shoot a sniper rifle the bullet some times hits the ground 2 feet infront of your feet even though the tip of the barrel is 3 feet out...its very annoying and not realistic at all but thats just how the cone of fire deviation nonsense works.

Re: Is the player view above your head?
Interesting thread, a way to test it would be with a buddy. One guy goes up next to a wall and shoots a bullet hole placed exactly in the middle of the screen and takes a screenshot (for verification), the buddy places himself at an angle where the head and bullet hole are visible and takes a screenshot. Then the second screenshot can be used to see where the head is aligned compared to the hole. If the shooters screenshot shows the bullet in the center of the screen and buddys screenshot shows the bullet hole someplace else than eyelevel the camera is not placed where we think it is.
