Happy Thanksgiving

Post by SgtDad »

Although this isn't the only time of year some of us drop everything and give pause to be thankful for our blessings, I'm grateful for the fact that there is a Nat'l Holiday (U.S.) for us to do so as one. In light of that, I wish the creators of this website, all the good people who keep it running and police it, and all the wonderful posters and my cyber-friends around the world who post here, a wonderful day of Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.

Sincerely,
Roland

Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in Canada and the United States. Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude in general. The Thanksgiving Day service is held annually at the Pieterskerk in Leiden. While perhaps religious in origin, Thanksgiving is now primarily identified as a secular holiday.[citation needed]
Holy ****, I did NOT knew that...i thought that Thanksgiving was something for U.S./Canada only...but there's a service done in my very own town :p

So, what is everyone having for their Thanksgiving dinner?

I'm having turkey (of course) gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potato pie, and cornbread.
Yum. Only about 6 hours to go for me!

What about you guys?

This is exactly why we don't have it in britain. We rely on logic and not emotion to govern our national holiday. We're also just too dam miserable to have anything like this.
