Single Player Crashing

Post by madkilla56 »

hello, i just recently reinstalled bf2/Pr/Prsp. For some reason i cannot create my own single player server. Right when it finishes loading it crashes to the desktop. I tried playing Pr mp and it works just fine. Even coop works fine online. But for some reason i cannot make my own coop server. I have windows 7 installed. I also installed bf2 in the right order, bf2 1.41, then 1.5, the pr core, then the map pack, then the single player core, then the single player map pack. I tried searching google and the forums couldnt find anything. Some people said lowering resolution fixes it, but i tried that and nothing seemed to help. I also dont get any errors, it just crashes to the desktop. Thanks for any help and hopefully i can start playing agiann soon :D

hey sorry it took me forever to respond. Got some time to mess with it agian. So i reinstalled everything, and it worked. Single player and multiplayer were working just fine. Then out of no where it just starts doing it agian the next day. It just start loading then around 65% just crashes to the desktop with no error messages or anything. I have windows 7 and a widescreen monitor so i did the compatibility and disable visual themes, and ran it as administrator still nothing. Does anyone else with windows 7 run this mod ok? Because bf2 seems to work fine.

Try running in windowed mode:

Copy your shortcut and in the target box change:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr_sp\pr_sp.exe"

To:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr_sp\pr_sp.exe" +fullscreen 0 +szx 800 +szy 600

Run the game from this shortcut, it should give you an error message when you crash.

As Mike suggested, change your texture setting but put them to medium.

Post here with any error message.

Hello again, so I came back to the game and I have the error message that it gives me. Seems I need to turn down my textures but I don't understand why I cant run the game at high settings, I have a nvidia gtx470 with 1.2gigs of video memory.

I've noticed some problems on Jabal Std and Muttrah Std, where the spawn points become unspawnable with no one near, and upon disconnecting from the local server itself the game crashes entirely.
