I'm sick of this response. Do you tell people to dedicate their lives to something if they suggest that role playing it for a while might be fun? If I said a race car simulation game would be fun, having to warm the tires, do practice laps, tune the car, fix the damage, etc. Would you tell me to go buy a real race car and dedicate my life to racing?arisaka99 wrote:It's called enlistment, sign up at a recruiter near you! It's even more realistic though, because when you die you can't start over!
So please, (not just you, but everyone) stop telling people to join the military if they want a more realistic experience. People have different attitudes towards killing other people. And some people have physical issues that prevent them from joining. Or even have political views that clash with the current situation. And here's a big one, some people have their own goals and values in life. Running around playing rambo for an afternoon on a weekend might be fun, but dedicating your life to the military because you find the video game to be fun, is just stupid.
If i suggested an idea for a massive multiplayer GTA game, with more realistic features, would you tell me to go get some guns and start stealing cars and killing civilians? Just cause it's fun to do in a video game, doesn't mean it's fun in real life. Perhaps I'm a pussy who can't handle the stress of combat, and i would have a mental break down when faced with it in real life, but safe at home behind my computer i find it's fun. (not that i even know how i would mentally handle real combat. Its just an example.)
I know it's a bit extreme. It would have to be handled like a big massive multiplayer game similar to World Of Warcraft. Where all the servers are connected to a main one.iAllex wrote:Your talking about an army life simulation game. I like the ideea of having a ranks in the game(liutenant, sergent, capatain) and having promotions like gold/silver stars etc. eventualy receiving some small customizations for your kit/weapon. But that means for all the servers to comunicate information at the end of every mach to a main server that will automatically calculate everyones point earned in game. Being discharged for injury , that's too much, this is a game not real life. Improving accuracy/strengh from training, i find that unfare and frustrating for new people that join the comunitty.(your missing a guy at 150 m away and he kills you with one shot just because he spent alot of time at training)
Being discharged would be like giving up when wounded in PR. Your not dead, but your not combat effective anymore, you game is done.
The training system would encourage people to prepare for war, of course there would have to be a maximum amount people could rank up to, and maybe this could be achieved in bootcamp, otherwise they would have to spend their own time leveling up. This would solve a couple things, first it would ensure that the people who are fighting have had a chance to get used to the controls, and the teamwork required. Secondly, it would prevent people from playing the game like any other military game, when they died, they couldn't just create a new soldier and be on the battlefield within minutes, they would be faced with having to do training again. It just puts a value on that virtual life you hold in your hands. Also, multiplayer training would be very interesting I think. It would make it different every time because you would have different people, with different skill levels and experience. It wouldn't be just about learning to fire your weapon, it would also be about building relationships with your teammates and improving your team working skills.
It would be like real life, when you leader is lost, the next guy on the list steps up and takes charge. Not a bad idea in that regard, I almost wish a similar system could be done in regular PR, without having to cycle the squad every time the SL dies.Jamaican wrote:Would that not ruin teamwork in sqds? What if you SL is the first to die, then kicked off server, whos going to replace him? I doubt constant changing of sqd members will promote teamwork, probably just increase campers.
Have you ever played Medal of Honor: Breakthrough? It used that exact system. It was fun, but I couldn't imagine that system working for PR.Iceman01 wrote:How about this for thought instead of 1 life even tho it sounds realistic...how about if u get killed u get sent to a POW camp and its up to the team to come and rescue u...that would be fun..instead waiting to rejoin a server loading the map already takes a few minutes for some even longer
