PR crashes to desktop/Fixed!

Post by bendik06 »

Ok guys, I need you're help here.

A few weeks ago, I cleaned up my coputer, by removing everything on it.
Then I installed BF2 and PR again. Yes, I have got the right patches etc, etc.

So PR seemed to work fine until I choose a server, and join it. My screen goes totally black, and the game crashes to desktop. No error-message or anything. The game just shuts down.

I don't understand why it should crash, because I played it on this computer before I cleaned it. I have also installed all the newest Microsoft .NET Frameworks and everything new from Microsoft.

Any suggestions?

When you say you installed pr, what exactly did u install?
Have you tryed lowering settings to low to see if that works?

I installed BF2 (1.41 + 1.5). Then I installed the newest PR. First core, then levels. When I installed PR I had to choose the folder though. Like manually choose C:\Programfiles\EA Games\Battlefield 2. I had to write it in myself, cause the computer couldn't find it. But that shouldn't be a problem, should it?

My settings is always on low. (My PC sucks)

You probably started BF2 quit out then started PR.
BF2 needs to run once to create the preference folder in your Documents folder. Only an issue when you COMPLETELY remove BF2.
Glad you got it sorted out.
