BF2\PR Blackscreen CTD on startup

BF2/PR has been crashing when i start up ever since the 1.5 patch. I have been looking everywhere for a fix and none have worked. Some of the fixes i have tried are Compatibility mode, deleting the Documents/Battfield2 folder, altering the video.con in doc/bf2 folder... as well as some others.

(error shows up when u run in windowed mode, for those with similar issues)

My specs are as follows:
Vista Home Premium x64
Q9550 @ 2.83ghz
GTX285
4gb ram

Did you follow the install guide line?

Installation timeline

1. Install BF2
-----------------
BF2:SF Expansion | --- If you have BF2:SF, here is where it should be installed.
----------------
2. Install Battlefield 2 v1.41
3. Install Battlefield 2 v1.5
4. Install the latest PR Build (Currently: v0.874)

If not install 1.41 then reinstall 1.5

Also
Set the textures to medium.
I'm not sure why this makes a difference with high-end cards that can run games like Crysis
on high quality settings with no problem at the same res,
but for some reason it can matter in Project Reality.

Also try restarting after each install of things. I did that and it worked for me. Best of luck.
