Does anyone use local speech in mumble?

Post by darklord63 »

I just started using mumble, and everyone on active servers were in the Squad Leader Ratio Net. What is the point of local speech if everyone uses this?

You gotta PM and admin I believe.

But leave it for future reference:

Local speech only works in <70m. It gradually decreases volume from 1m to 70m, 71m+ = unaudible.

Make sure you are on the right channel: TG has 2 teams and one SL channel in each one: if you are SL go to the Leadership Channel of your team (ask your team (1 or 2) on in-game chat or compare names). If not, just go into the team channel. It now works perfectly.

When you use the SL Radio bind (aka Force Center) you speak with everyone on your channel, be that team 1, team 2, team 1 leadership or team 2 leadership. As a squad member (not leader) you won't be using that much. Report to your SL and tell him to relay the info to the other SLs, which will relay that info (if deemed necessary or relevant) to his SLs. Think of a net: PC (SM) sents over to server (SL) which relays info to all other SLs (other servers) which relay info to the attached PCs (SMs). Got it?
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D
