wont let me play bf2 offline

For some reason i cannot play battlefield 2, when im offline. The problem seems to be isolated to only whenever im offline, but i can play local games when im offline. This goes for Project reality singleplayer, and all the other BF2 mods in my mods folder including vanilla. i reinstalled it to try to fix the problem, but with no avail. anyone have any suggestions

Um... BF2 is a multi-player game designed for online play primarily.
