Hi guys, got a problem here;
I can't play the beta versions of the game without killing my game. I join a sever playing 0.874D, say 10th community server, and all goes well. After I'm done playing I quit the server, quit the game. Later when I try to start the game it's just a black screen that won't budge. I tried restarting the computer, clearing out the bf2 cache.
The only thing that works is completely uninstalling PR and BF2 then do a fresh install. I double checked to make sure I am installing in the correct order, so that's not it. This happend 3 times now, first time I didn't know what caused it, second time I got wiser and tried it for a third time to make sure. And sure enough, it killed the game.
Anyone got any ideas? Now that I think about it, I usually quit by writing 'quit' in the console, could that be it? Could that somehow mess up some of the PR/bf2 files that differ from non-beta files and the game not restoring them? Or is that done when joining a normal server?
Anyways, thanks for any input. If you need any other info, I'd be happy to give it to you.

Re: vBF2&PR stops working after playing 0.874b/c/d
I don't know if this can work for you, but I keep my working copy of PR/BF2 on my 'E' drive.
I have the same file structure as the 'C' drive.
example:
E:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\
The only difference is E:\Program Files (x86) only has EA games folder with just BF2/BF2mods on it.
That way whenever I do updates or install a new mod all I have to do is change the first letter from 'C' to 'E'.
If I need to revert to a older version I can run it from "C" or drag and drop from 'C' to replace 'E'.
I also burn a backup DVD after installing whenever a new version of PR comes out.
I backup the 'C' BF2 folder, the BF2 documents folder and the new 'Core' and 'Levels' installers too.
Drag and drop is much faster than reinstalling.
Good luck
