How Does battlefield and PR work with windows 7?

Post by UncleSmek »

Just as the title says.
Im thinking if installing windows 7 32bit and I wonder how it will work on the games i play, that is WC3, Project Reality, HoN and WoW. Is there any errors? Punkbuster trouble?

And what do you recommend me to install? 32bit or 64bit?

AMD phenom 9550 quad-core processor 2.20 gh, 4 GB ram, ATI HD radeon 4650 512mb

If you have at least 4GB ram, install 64 bit. Any 32 bit version of Windows is limited to 4GB total memory allocation. That includes memory on your video and sound cards. What this means for you is that your 32 bit OS will only see and use 3 to 3.5GB of your system memory. 64 bit versions do not have this limitation. From Tom's Hardware:
Here are the upper RAM limits for the different editions of Windows 7 x64:

* Starter: 8GB
* Home Basic: 8GB
* Home Premium: 16GB
* Professional: 192GB
* Enterprise: 192GB
* Ultimate: 192GB
As you can see, memory limitations shouldn't be an issue for a year or two with the consumer level versions of Win7 and we should be good (I'd think) for 5+ years on the Pro, Enterprise & Ultimate versions (unless you're running a server, but then you should be running some server version of Windows anyways).
