Do you by any chance have to "Log on" to Windows after starting up your PC?

Ok. Just read your first post and came to this conclusion. (I had a PC similar to yours when I started playing PR) When you start PR, go to your video settings and drag every thing to "low" or "off". Also change your screen resolution to 800x600 with a refresh rate of 60 hertz. Then apply said changes. That ought to do the trick. After that.... Start the game and enjoy. Let me know if it works.

I had similar problems as VBF/PR will only run a 60hz refresh for some silly reason my MSI laptop was set on 59hz so no BF/PR (shop mended it perfectly).
But I am Vista which exagerrated the issue.

This is just a shot in the dark but... try defragmenting your harddrive. Maybe your HDD is extremely fragmented.

Sorry Born. Don't know what to do any further. Contact your nearest PC outlet or Microsoft agent for assistance. Best of luck and I hope you get it up and running soon. PS: I think your graphics card just cannot handle the strain.

Yes even though PR is a mod of an old game, the graphics do need alot more capacity, not many can run everything on high.
