Think UAV's should have missile strikes?

Post by combatwombat »

Seems like the observation-only UAV is becomming much less common than UAVs that can actually participate in the battle through missile strikes. I think giving 1-2 hellfire missiles to the UAV in PR could be cool because:

1) It would make the commander role more attractive

2) It would give the commander more reasons to follow ground troops closely with the UAV

3) Could be balanced by increasing the timer for the UAV and coalition artillery strike, while decreasing the timer for the insurgent mortar strike

The main problem I can think of is that if it were overpowered, commanders might be able to dominate the battlefield on their own (i.e., taking out all the insurgent assets, sniping caches)

Thoughts?

For the love of...

We can't put missiles on the UAV, because the UAV is a missile itself and missiles can't fire missiles in BF2. End of god damn story.

Um... am I missing something? I had assumed it was something like the predator. And what's with the attitude? It's just a question man relax.

in game, the UAV is a projectile of sorts. because of this no missiles can be fired from it. been discussed to death.

As outlawz said, its a missile so it cant fire missiles. And would be totally unbalanced for the CO to be able of firing missiles from the sky everytime he sees a enemy. Oh and a UAV armed whit missiles isn't a UAV anymore its a UCAV
