Re: Can anyone help?
Does regular BF2 load for you? If it does, its not your card. Might need to just reinstall PR again or check your startup pathway for pr (pr.exe)

Ideally this could also mean that you have specified wrong hz with the resolution that PR is trying to load up.

Re: Can anyone help?
maybe it loads up if you put it in minimized mode and not full screen? or you might get an error

Re: Can anyone help?
An incorrect game screen res can cause this, you may need to reset your default profile settings and your user profile settings to 800x600 then readjust in-game to what you actually need.
Look in you profile folders in "My Docs/BF2" and look for a file called video.con - open this in note pad and edit the settings back to 800x600

Re: Can anyone help?
The problem could be something is telling BF2 to load a resolution that your monitor or video card doesn't support. In my case it was my new widescreen LCD.
That "something" is actually 3 files in the "C:\Documents and Settings\[Your User Name]\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles" directory. In that Profiles directory are 3 folders called 0001, 0002, and Default. Inside each of those 3 folders is a file called Video.con. You need to open each of those 3 Video.con files and search for the line that says "VideoSettings.setResolution 1280x960@75Hz". Change all 3 files to a resolution & refresh rate that you know the monitor and video card support, and BF2 should work like a champ again.
My Video.con looks like this:
VideoSettings.setTerrainQuality 3
VideoSettings.setGeometryQuality 3
VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 3
VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 2
VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 2
VideoSettings.setEffectsQuality 3
VideoSettings.setTextureQuality 2
VideoSettings.setTextureFilteringQuality 3
VideoSettings.setResolution 1600x1200@60Hz
VideoSettings.setAntialiasing Off
VideoSettings.setViewDistanceScale 1
VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 3
Hope that was it.

When looking for answers please follow these simple steps.
#1 : Read the red stickys First.
New PR problems are rare so most answers can be found here.
#2. Use the search feature on PRs web site or GOOGLE IT!. Often the quickest way to find what your looking for when you have an error message.
#3. You have spent some time trying to help yourself, but your ready to ask for help:
Please remember to include your basic PC info in your post :
Operating system = XP, Vista etc.
systems specks = cpu/speed, ram installed, video card/video ram on card, older CRT monitor or new LCD etc.
network setup = cable, 4 port 10/100/1000 d- link gamers lounge/ wired connection.

what you have already tried.
The more info you can give the better you chance of getting a quick answer back. You don't have to write a book, but your basic PC is needed to help you.
Good luck
