Either that or your servers aren't showing correctly

I think its just a bad time, Arma2, opfs, codmw2 etc. But i mean there is still a lot of full servers at any time.
And it could have been worse. Ex FH2, its quite sad so much work for a mod that very few play.

PR has more players than Arma2 and opf combined.

Lol that's quite a long time to notice the surplus amount of empty servers.alberto_di_gio wrote:last night me and my buddies searched for an empty server for 10 min.![]()
Maybe you meant empty slots on populated servers?

Exactly, some don't appreciate just how active the PR community is.gazzthompson wrote:PR has more players than Arma2 and opf combined.
OkitaMakoto;1210978']This post is pretty much copied and posted with every release. .5 saw it, .6 saw it, .7 saw it... And yet with every release we seem to bounce back up to high numbers, and then maintain a good deal that we draw in, plus bring back a good amount of those who "lost interest between releases"
It's ALWAYS been like this at the tail end of a release and just before another release. Things get dry, some people move on, some wait for the net release, and some just keep on playing. But come release, you'll see a huge spike in players, then itll settle down a bit, then about 6-8 months from release someone will probably make the same post you just did
And what a stupid process to go through.
Its a shame that a game has to go through that system instead of being stable.
Signs of a gradually-going-downhill game Vol. I: Losing stability
Does anybody know of a server browser website (not game-monitor etc.) that tracks servers over an extended period of time? I would truly love to show how wrong you are when you say this happens with every release, but I just don't have proof right now.
However I can tell you back in 0.7 we had two full servers every night, nowadays we're lucky to break 50. And that isn't due to Australian lack of interest, its due to the way this game is going.
PR has more players than Arma2 and opf combined.
Big call, its even bigger when you're wrong.
Players playing ARMA right now: 219
Players playing PR right now: 202
Of course these are changing, and the first one is without OFDR stats.

iirc devs have their own statistics and graphs and i believe it was even posted in one of these "PR is going downhill" threadsdtacs wrote: Does anybody know of a server browser website (not game-monitor etc.) that tracks servers over an extended period of time? some servers die, new appears, nothing new
its due to lack of australian interest in the way game is goingAnd that isn't due to Australian lack of interest, its due to the way this game is going.
i have no problem finding populated servers in the evening in europe or america, even more, its usually hard to join servers i like to play on
i see more than 530 in PR and its not even peak time imoBig call, its even bigger when you're wrong.

Re: Is PR Loosing Interest...?
Hi all i try to answer with my best english ..
Server French are not all full like the rest of world , our server is empty , of course we like to have a full server , but we understand than we have to wait 0.9 , for us we can play this game for a long time and we can wait 0.9 for more time if that need .
So if i want to go play PR we go to another contry server , , some server are good to play , with a good teamplay , respects the server's rules etc etc ...
Yesterday we play Qwai River , 2houres , i dont remember exactly but i can tell you something ,
We dont think about 0.9 , dont think about empty server , We just think about stay alive and win attack and counter attack , defending !Tactics!!!! Do a medic job ! Talk to squad leader ..Take the flag ...Arhhh!! ...ok ok i stop ...:!:SO INTENSIV!!
No no for my friends and me PR is not die , it's continued more and more and more ...
Have a nice day , i hope you understand my english ...And my passions!!

bye bye

You say that like they're somehow controlling player numbers.dtacs wrote:And what a stupid process to go through.

There's a core-community that always plays PR no matter how old the version is, then there is a 'fluctuating overhead' that play after a new version has come out. Some people are bigger PR fans then others, it's just natural.
Funny I don't recall that. Busiest I've seen the Skirmish server was just after 0.85 came out.dtacs wrote:However I can tell you back in 0.7 we had two full servers every night
First time I've ever seen that, right now it's actually:dtacs wrote:Players playing ARMA right now: 219

PR - 536 (Servers playing BattleField 2 | Server / Player Search | Game-Monitor.com :: Server Search, Monitoring, Stats and more)
ARMA - 251 (Servers playing Armed Assault | Server / Player Search | Game-Monitor.com :: Server Search, Monitoring, Stats and more)
Interesting that 334 more people hopped on PR in the last 30 mins but only 32 for Arma.
Lol... our server (GamingAU) still has plenty of people in it every night, even with the supposedly-unpopular beta changes.DankE_SPB wrote:its due to lack of australian interest in the way game is going![]()
I've heard more Aussies complain about our admins than PR itself, those that don't mind playing on foreign servers anyway.

Re: Is PR Loosing Interest...?
I haven't played PR for months, but I quite often check game-monitor to see if the RT server is populated. What I've noticed is that there's pretty much the same number of "full" servers, but there seems to be less servers with say 20-30 people playing.
I sure that quite alot of people are bored of the same maps - its been 12 months since any new maps have been released, and several of those have not been massively successful/popular. It looks like there's plenty of new maps for 0.9 so that will probably freshen things up a bit and bring some old players back.

and the arma link included both arma1 and 2. during peak time PR will go to about 800+ i doubt arma will.

Losing stability? All signs indicate the (un-)stability is proportionally constant.
Downhill? The mods playerbase has had an enormous net growth over the years. Textbook example of gradually-going-uphill game, if you ask me.
Rough graph

Not the steadiest hand, but im sure you get the point

^^ Try joining any of the servers that dont go through the same layers and maps all the time. TG has opened my eyes for several interesting maps and layers, such as the APC+infantry version of quinling.

I sometimes play on Russian servers myself, but not everyone can tolerate a high ping.
