General threads tips :goguapsy wrote:@Nick_Gunar - perhaps you can fill me up with some links to good guides/strategies (for squad members and squad leaders) and I'll add to the guide as "must read" threads or something like that.

That's only for basic infantry tactics lol (no specific kit). It is heavy litterature, I know but when I started PR, I read all these tutorials and It helped me a lot.
countless pages for tips in "Project Reality Forums > Project Reality Mod Forums > PR Tales from the Front > PR In-Game Tactics and Strategies", but you have to dig them up

The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities... It is best to win without fighting.

well... it is a really nice guide.
though i think formation guide is the most difficult one to carry out. especially if you have rookies in your sq. in pr keeping your current direction and direction of your path in your mind is essential. (which is one of the most complicate issue after bf2) so without direction sense and fast coordination with the information coming from you sq. leader and sq. members you are totaly lost. with addition of the enemy fire on you no formation left on you mind

Yeah I've been thiking about this lately. Not bunching up seems to be, in fact, the most efficient formation... Only stay withing nametag distance of one of your squad members and be frosty on the trigger that you are good to go.alberto_di_gio wrote:well... it is a really nice guide.

@Nick_Gunar thanks for those links I'm gonna check them all later. The problem I didn't go for the links is that most of them talk about the same thing (that includes what I said in my guide too, yep, my guide IS redundant sometimes).

Excellent guide! One thing that I think you should add is how to cross streets, open ground, etc. (I only play Insurgency mode, so I have no idea how this applies to AAS.) If I need to cross a street/intersection I'll send two men at a time, but if it's over open ground like the two main roads in Fallujah West I send one at a time.
Keep up the good work. I can't wait to read the Squad Leader's guide
(BTW this needs a sticky :thumbsup

Well you wont finde many people online using that kinde of formations ...If you want to see that in action your best choice is to get in a clan . And play that with them

This is why I keep on stressing you should see the Pr ingame tactics and strategy. It is not that hard and some post are very self-explatanory.Klutz wrote:Excellent guide! Again, It seems a bit redundant because mostly everything has been said in theory. Also, I prefer to read the comments (agree/disagree) to see the practical side of this theory (it is good, i'll do this way - it is bad, i'll do that way...).

Great guide. Do as Bonsai said and add something about communications, VOIP, mumble, radio discipline, how to call out contacts etc.

It's a shame that whole teams don't follow this code of conduct, it'd make for some insane firefights with everyone running tactics.
