I find it hilarious how some people here seem to want PR to die...

Yep, and we can track unique IDs as well , so we can tell how many new players are joining PR.gazzthompson wrote:15:19 GMT

and the arma link included both arma1 and 2. during peak time PR will go to about 800+ i doubt arma will.
And there is another thing that everyone is forgetting ... we had a huge influx of players after winning MOTY on ModDb. At one point we had almost 1/5th of the total BF2 playing community. Naturally this influx and boost has been slowly dropping off, and leaving the more faithful players (and better games IMO).
I took a break from playing for a few months ... due to RL pressures, but having had a few games recently I have been pleasantly surprised to find how friendly and oriented to teamwork the community is in comparison to other games. We are a niche game , and we have a niche community ... the fact that there are so many people still playing the Mod on an 5 year old engine ... is actually quite staggering. Quite the opposite reality to those trying to spread doom and gloom.
We are spreading our wings to different things, and working on a full blown game. Basically Project Reality is in rude health and the future is looking good. So hold on to your hats ladies

Actually when you click the links provided in the quote above you see PR has above 900 Players and ArmA is still at around 400

Yes, because the links point to pages that are constantly updated.MaxBoZ wrote:Actually when you click the links provided in the quote above you see PR has above 900 Players and ArmA is still at around 400
Probably a better idea to take screenshots instead, but that takes more time and effort.

It would be a strange mix of nerds, normal people (not too many) and real-life soldiers.[R-CON]Rudd wrote:imagine all the PR players in the world gathered in one room....

I'm working double shifts, and my computer is having issues that make it pretty tough to play, so I haven't been on much. Its still the funnest of all video games for me.

Well, I'm starting to lose interest... after a 3-4 hour long play session. Sloggin' it out for too long gets to ya.

Re: Is PR Loosing Interest...?
Every mod must die sooner or later, PR seems like it will live on at least until ACE2 and ArmA2 is perfected. Right now it isn't as smooth as the ACE1 for ArmA1 was.
More "realistic" FPSs have more a niche market and tend to survive longer due to a lack of such releases in my opinion. There will always be that crazy hardcore crowd who yells at their members when they fail to address their superiors by rank.
It is unfortunate that other BF2 mods of similar high quality didn't get the same level of players. Sometimes the factions aren't interesting enough for most players (why PoE2 died?), and sometimes it is a late release (why FH2 hasn't had the luck of the FH1?)
Hopefully when the real Battlefield 3 rolls around more support will be available to mod makers, a return to the days of Battlefield: 1942 variety and mod popularity.

Another thing that kinda works in PRs favor for the moment is that compared to ArmA2 it doesn't require a super-computer to run.

Re: Is PR Loosing Interest...?
PR is a game on its own.... It is basicaly a remake of BF2 which was SLAPED togeather to make a POS Arena figting game.. the creators did not have a single thaught of actuial game play in mind only making money off the people who buy their products.. thats where PR comes in... it evolved from Bf2 a whole differnt idea of gamplay and coporation that mostly none of the main stream games which are out can do. think about it.. If the PR team had enough resources to create its own game such as those random free downloadable games off the internet that would be great it would be a whole lot mainstream and every can enjoy it..
Reasons people may think PR is loosing intrest could be the fact that there are gaps between updates .. once an update is given some people may not like the changes and stop playing untill the next update comes out. or the maps get old and boring every Time you play ( MUTTRAH ) but besides that i belive the peopple who still play Vanilla Bf2 dont even know about PR.. there too stuck on playing kashan the same way over and over and over and over and over untill they kill them selves for not having a life. and the people who DO still play Bf2 and know about PR ... well there just idiots lol who are happy with their rank and think people care about it.
i know im going off on a bit of a tangant but i dont think PR is loosing intrest at all... i think this is PR's golden age. 0.9 is a WHOLE new version of PR New everything things will change alot when it is released and its not like we dont have anytihng thing to look foward to..
All of the Community modding and update forums are a great way to keep the community intrested it gives them somthing to look foward to keeping the players on the inside is probibly one of the most important things which keeps its players intersted.
PR is NOT loosing intrest even since there are new games on Xbox which look 100 times better Pr is its own world on its own.
( sorry for the long pointless speech )
