Noob install questionq
Okay I downloaded the PR 087 bundle from file planet with the download manager and put them on my desktop. I click open and nothing happens just the hard drive starts running. This is very frustrating to me and yea I am a noob so sorry but am I doing this all wrong? Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay well I waited like 30 mins? Should I reboot or keep waiting? Should I extract it into the bf2 folder? Just want to make sure I am good to go here. And thank you for the reply my friend.

30 minutes should be enough, try running it as an administrator or in XP compatibility mode.

welcome mate
try lemon's suggestion, right click and run as admin or go to properties, compatibility and select xp
I have vista and I've always regretted it

Let it run. After starting the setup just stand-by whit patience, It's the same whit the other setups in vistaant it should ask you for authorization in a while
But after 15min's of running you should consider other options

I have that windows security program running should I disable that as I install it? Any suggestions are good ones I am running 32 bit Vista with 4 ghz processor, 3 gigs of ram and an ati 5770 video card. I may not have a ferrari system but it's better than a YUGO

Re: Noob install questionq
Can you right-click on the PR shortcut and take a look at the properties?
The target line should read something like this
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"

Re: Noob install questionq
You need to install Patch 1.41 before you install 1.5, there is no full version unfortunately.
So the install order after uninstalling BF2+PR would be:
BF2 -> 1.41 Full (536 MB) -> 1.5
A bit of a hassle but don't give up yet!

Re: Noob install questionq
great, now a couple of things:
-read the manuAL FOR GODS SAKE!
-don't fly or be SL or commander untill you know exactly what you are doing and have played alot of rounds on each map
-check on forums for latest updates at least every 2-3 days
-train trian train
-do what SL's tell you to
and ask questions we arn't afraid to teach you things just make sure it isn't in a hectict moment like in the middle of a firefight because that can annoy people
-don't be afraid to report to admins bad behavior , if you are wrong and its not against the rules no problem just try to avoid this
