Noob question about maps

Noob question about maps

HI a small group of friends and I play BF2 every weekend, no dedicated server just some one setting up a local server and off we go.. anyway we down loaded PR a few days ago and we all really liked it accept for the maps are HUGE.... like I said there are just a few of us. are there any small maps for this mod?

Try the Skirmish versions. They are small enough for a limited amount of players.

thanks for the quick reply,

we were doing that last night but it still seemed like we had to run 5 miles just to get to the fight

Maybe you weren't trying the skirmish versions. The ones Bosco mentioned are only a few city blocks in size. There is one for Fallujah West that is pretty fun. They could still be considered "large" for FPS terms (larger than, say, COD4 maps), but smaller than most BF2 maps.

ok we will give that a shot. we play every Friday and Saturday night EST. if anyone is interested in jumping in let me know

When setting up a local server, skirmish can be found from Game Mode drop-down menu under Available Maps section of the local server screen. Skirmish maps are really tiny from the PR people's point of view, but most of them are still bigger than many other online shooter's maps :) They also have 2-3 objectives in form of captureable flags/control points, so it's not about run-and-gun even in skirmish.
