Some of the best players in PR are kids, also some of the worst.
I've seen some of the best leadership come from 14 year olds in the game. There simply no excuse when a squad leader gets things done and an older squad leader cannot.

Only problem I have with 12 year olds is if they have an irritating voice. Nothing destroys my immersion more tbh. I have met a few who are decent players, although it is rare.
That being said I wish that age restrictions on games were more rigidly enforced.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

If the older player was mentally unstable....dtacs wrote:Some of the best players in PR are kids, also some of the worst.

Age really doesn't matter though as long as they can play.

I think it doesnt matter the age as long as they play right. But if they have an annoying voice, i think they shouldn't play. Lucky for me I started playing when i was 13 and i never got anything about my voice, ppl always thought i was 17 o.0

Lol, nice Rudd. I'm going to remind you of that comment every time I see you ;P[R-CON]Rudd wrote:yeah, damned women should be banned from PR!(I joke! never met a bad female player so far

My take; I don't mind so long as they're mature and people stop yelling 'omg 12yr old hisss' when they hear me talk for the first time.

I actually ran into a 12 yearold today, he played the game and asked the squad lead what he should do like a good squadmate should, but he just..talked to much in that voice of his. I ended up muting him

Re: DEBATE: What do you think about 12 year olds playing PR?
The age restriction is there for a reason, whats going over voip sometimes should possibly not be heard by 12 years old even how "mature" they are they are not really mature they are still growing its a huge difference between 12 and 15 for example, I can talk shit with a 15 year old I know, but I cant talk about the same things with a 12 year old in the same even if they are what you call mature for the age, its a part of growing up, but in medical eyesight you are not mature enough before 15-16.
And we have all heard of the stories with little kids getting screwed by older guys and suddenly getting the father or mother on TS.
Now I dont have anything against 12 years old its just that they are not grown up mentally I thougth I was "mature" at the age of 15 when I was about to go up to high school man I surely got down to earth again. Now I am 19 and feel like I am still 17

People don't realize that autism doesn't mean they're "stupid". Just socially inept. Like rhino... > > or in a worst case scenario... Wicca. =)- Lithium fox

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

My 9 yrs old son is in our clan and regularly plays with us, he plays under CloneTrooperE name. I must say that he acts more responsible and mature then players significantly older then him. In fact I am often surprise that older players often loose their cool and start swearing or act like a spoiled brats, just because someone shot them or they did not got asset they want.

Re: DEBATE: What do you think about 12 year olds playing PR?
Well, very few persons i met in my squads in PR were under 14. For 2 general reasons:
Playing on a PC, instaling PR and other PC related stuff might be too hard for most persons under 14.(You might think I'm wrong, but compared with using a PS2/3 Xbox, or whatever console, is much easier than using a PC, too many buttons or something)
Second, well most persons under 14 don't have VOIP or are not using it, so they won't stay more than 15 seconds in my squad anyways.

Yeah their voice is annoying, but if they're well-mannered it's not a problem.

Re: DEBATE: What do you think about 12 year olds playing PR?
Guys, don't hate 12 or 13 year olds for having "an annoying voice". It's not something they can help, it's human anatomy - people do sound that way at that age. Sure, the voices are annoying, but whenever I feel like commenting on that, I just remember that I sounded about the same at that age, and all of us did. So what if there was no VOIP back then, and there is for today's 12 year olds.
Judge every player based on how they play, not how old they are or what they sound like.

I think age is irrelevant, its about maturity and attitude. I've played with 13 year olds that are awesome and then 30 year olds that hog sniper kits and have melt downs. Maturity is the key

Oh... Here it is (look at the bottom, left corner):

According to the law, 12 years old kids shouldn't play this game at all.

Re: DEBATE: What do you think about 12 year olds playing PR?
I was like 12 when I began to play and I'm 14 right now.. I really have no problem with kids playing, but having a 12 year old as the commander is a pain in the ***. The kid didn't know anything about what he was supposed to do, but he tried his best I guess.
And about talking about mature topics: Most kids around 12 these days are pretty mature when it comes to that. I don't know if it's where I come from, but by 12 we were talking about some pretty screwed up stuff. But if they have a problem with what we're talking about in a squad, I just kick em. You guys have to give the younger players in the community a chance, because a lot of times there are younger players that are really disciplined. When I first started playing, I just joined the squad, asked the SL what we were doing, where we would spawn, and what kits we needed, then I shut up until something worth warning/telling the SL came up. I think the reason we get these really immature asshat children playing terribly is because we restrict violence so much that they become isolated from what real world combat really is. So now they think of war as a bunch of guys with L33T scopes and L33T sniper rifles. The ones that really care about the principles of the game will stick on. The ones that are immature and sniper-hogs will drop out once they discover an amazing thing called 'Deviation' and all these rules the makers of the mod have made.
And screw ESRB and PEGI >_<

Age of a player doesn't matter to me. Idiots and great players in every age group.

@rudd: hey age restrictions arnt that great on games, i personally think they're pointless anyways since parents buy games without looking at them
as well women who play violent games tend to be very serious about them, since they're allready out of the norm, they tend to niche with us freaks here at the end of the spectrum
on another note, i've played with some very smart and well mannered 12 year olds. as for language, it doesnt really matter they already know the words

Whilst I agree that 12 year olds cannot help their high voice, they can help, by not talking constantly. Other than that, follow orders, don't be a n00b, and I'm fine with it. Although, you will have to listen to my rants about 'back in my day...'

I dont really mind, but one has to admit that the voices sound funny.
