Steam version BF2 with PR shortcut problem

I'm using 64 bit xp and steam version BF2. I downloaded 0874 core, level and patch.

First time, I installed all three. Started the game,
I was stuck on the screen says " You must use "pr.exe" to run project reality, please update the shortcut as required" If you just create a new account, please restart project reality.
Then I did what it says, restart the game, but I was stuck on the same screen. Since I used the shortcut the installer created, I think it was alright there.

Second time, I uninstalled core, level and patch, then reinstall core and level.
Same thing happened. I tried to delete bf2 folder under "my documents", project reality.exe kept dying, I had to restore bf2 folder, So I kept "profile" folder, and deleted everything else, including the files in the "profile", Same problem occured.

I have been reading this forum and searching on google for solutions since last night, but I think I'm out of option now. I also tried to change the shortcut target, adding "+mod....", I couldn't add the string behing it.

Please help. Any reply will be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks, but it didn't work. Pr.exe kept dying.

I'm having the same problems on XP when downloading on steam.. Getting the same screen. I've tried a couple solutions suggested on the forums with mixed results, none working.

So far I've tried..

-Creating a LaunchPR shortcut using Autohotkey, I even edited the script as suggested with no luck.
-Changed the Target and and whatnot..

Help would be greatly appreciated,

Well, I've heard that the new version of PR will fix these Steam issues, but when will it be released?

lol. If I'm going to have a solution, I'm getting it from the post right here. I searched on google and this site for like 4 hours, couldn't find anything work.

Just in case he doesn't come back, he will get the solution from his email. That's what I do all the time, ask for help in a forum, but I actually forget to go back check for the solution...
lol.

Hope the new update will fix it.

Heres what youre looking for hopefully.
Solved the problem for me:

Replace yours with that bf2.exe and you should be good to go directly from pr.exe. no script needed.
