Insurgent Weapons

Post by Lagsalot 56k »

I was just wondering to all of you PR players, what you think is the best and most useful insurgent kit and/ or weapon to use on the field of battle. I have been using mostly the Aks-74u on full auto and getting quite the kick out of doing so :-D , but i was wondering what you guys use.

Ak-74 is the best gun. Its good close range and pretty good "long" range. The most useful kit though is the sapper. You can use it for pretty much anything.

Collaborator.

I love having 1-3 minute respawn because I had my hands up bowing down to my squad leader.

The Insurgent titled kits are all so limited that it is hard to pick one over the other because they are used for different things. RKGs and molotovs are situational, the AKs all have the same firing characteristics if I remember right and the shotgun is better for me at range than up close because of how accurate it is.

For effectiveness on a rifle I like the AK 47 because of the sight, which is fairly open compared to the 74 so I can do a bit better with seeing my target so I use this kit or the AK-74u depending on if I want a RKG or molotov.

I like the Sapper kit but it is less effective if the enemy is cautious. It is the most versatile kit of the team between the bayonet (if I had a hard mounted bayonet on the AK-47 like Chechyn forces CQB rifleman has I would be in heaven), the explosives and the SKS which is a decent ranged rifle for harassment, but not good for killing.

Actually, the bayonet is the most effective weapon because they cannot revive from it. Guaranteed kill.

They're all so good in their abilities!

I'd say sapper is great if you have a well coordinated team. Grenade traps, IEDs, and follow-up SKS rifle fire can be ridiculously effective. Don't underestimate grenade traps...if you can get your team to stop tripping them.

Or the AK-47. For close quarters there's none better, plus it's fairly accurate at range.

The Al-Quds. Best kit in the game IMO. If im US/Brit I usually swap my kit for the Al-Quds if I come across it.

The gun doesn't have a scope so its perfect for medium range, and its deployable. It also comes with molotovs. All it needs is a bandage and I wouldn't play with anything else.

If I'm going solo, than I usually like to take a SVD Dragunov and get on a nice roof. If I'm in a squad, then I'll go straight for a Al-Quds.

The shotgun is very effective, since it is the only firearm togheter with the mp5 that you dont have to settle to get good accuracy. Counter-strike ftw.

Ak47, relatively accurate single shots with good knock down power at medium-far ranges. Powerhouse at close range ambushes.

I have wiped out entire squads on killing sprees with the Ak47 before in urban settings. Full auto is your friend within 30-40 yards once you get use to the recoil.

Honestly on a side note however, insurgents should mostly have AKM's. Ak47's are ancient and arnt around in huge numbers anymore. The modernized ak47 with the slanted muzzel is much more common.

The slanted muzzel also helps slightly with muzzle climb which would allow it to be more accurate realisticly in game.

Or we could instead just compensate with instead giving them the choice of an ak-47 with drum magazine :) .

Been playing alot with the Ak47 but finally came to the conclusion that its not so good afterall. Ak47 is RAW in Very Closecombat but the Single Shot technique doesnt really work on it. Either you die instantly or you manage to fire 3-4 single shots but somehow the guy still survives and kills you. Ak74 is much more accurate and works better. But 47 is so RAW, Grrrrrrr

Ak's come with drum magazines in real life, live with it.. you still have scopes anyway so your panties wont get knotted too much.

for me.... its not the gun, but the soldier holding the gun
if he/she<--- unlikely LOL, is a good team player and knows their stuff then it makes the soldier the best weapon in the game

I totally agree, I have a rule in my squads, if you had the ability to knife and you didn't, you're kicked.

In fact I love the AK bayonet so much I recently bought a Yugoslavian one
