DashBoard Cameras (on Vehicles) for Commander
This could be a potential Good idea. Its better than having Helmet Cams on each individual Soilder.
You Can Use the same camera that is on the UAV drone.
Place them on Hummers And all allied ground Vehicles and Aircraft.
They would be very useful in guiding in Airstrikes called in by other squads. With the commander Useing the camera to "Walk In" the bombs and Cannon fire ( from A10 or Littlebird)
Any Feed Back or Addons Post em.

Re: DashBoard Cameras (on Vehicles) for Commander
I'd like to see a source that BN commanders and upwards have access to 'cameras' on vehicles.
Otherwise someone higher up is about to stop you in your tracks.

Sounds good
the helmet cam sounds good too
both of these I think could be a killer combo with the UAV

Helmet cams can be used irl but they dont have a live feed to the commander, neither do dashboard cameras, should be for the squad leader calling in the strike to "walk in" the aircraft

Now the thing is that AFAIK the UAV drone is in fact just a modified tv-guided missile like then ones from vanilla BF2s attack choppers that uses UAV controll station instead of the gunner seat of the heli. There is in no way possible to attach that to a vehicle or soldier at all.stealth420 wrote: You Can Use the same camera that is on the UAV drone...

Never seen a camera on a hummer in blackhawk down and IRL there are cameras recording in some of the hummers in iraq. Don't see how this would be from blackhawk down...HellDuke wrote:Only time I heard or rather seen this was in Black Hawk Down and we all know that no hollywood movie can be used as refference since I doubt even half of it is realistic...

Any cameras you see recording on hummer dashboards in Iraq are either the soldiers themselves, or, like police vehicles just used to review the situation after action.

No, he means the DashBoard Cameras giving live feedback from the blackhawks. If you have seen the film Black Hawk Down, you will remember short, square clips, that general Garrison had available in his command post. Although they appear often, you might not remember. Go to 1:21 & 1:31, you should notice them.rampo93(FIN) wrote:Never seen a camera on a hummer in blackhawk down and IRL there are cameras recording in some of the hummers in iraq. You sure thats image sent from one of the blackhawks? might just be satelite feed.Elektro wrote:No, he means the DashBoard Cameras giving live feedback from the blackhawks. And when he said this to be unrealistic i fail to see how, surely there are cameras capable of taking footage like this in both blackhawks or military satelites

Logically speaking, it most probably was satelite feed. But it is possible that they had placed a camera onboard the blackhawk, no proof though.rampo93(FIN) wrote:You sure thats image sent from one of the blackhawks? might just be satelite feed.

I'm pretty certain that camera was attached to one of the helos. Earlier in the movie when the helicopters were circling, the feed circled, too.

not realistic and most likely hardcoded. Only live feed i know of for commanders are UAV/UCAVs. helmet cams and dashboard cams dont act like a live feed for a commander.

UCAV?
how about that other suggestion a while ago about putting this kind of thing but into scout helicopters? surly that would be more relaistic and better for gameplay wise(those things need a reason to actualy liftoff int he first palce

The only thing I know of besides a UAV that streams a feed to another place on a vehicle would have to be the ROVER Camera's mounted on the nose of F-14 Tomcats and some US Navy F/A-18s.

Re: DashBoard Cameras (on Vehicles) for Commander
Unless you have a reliable source saying that there are dash cams in humvees with live feed to headquarters units, this seems like a foolishly unrealistic suggestion.
