Anti-tank kits

Post by nicoX »

Those that carry this kits, shouldn't be able to move and run, like the other infantry soldiers.
Because of the weight and size of AT weapons, I suggest soldiers should auto get lower sprinting stamina, or lose the ability to run, while carrying it on the back, or atleast when having it deployed.
Also moving around this weapons is unrealistic, turning left and right is going to fast, slow it down.

well, I think its reasonable to keep it equal since he doesn't carry any extra equipment like grenades etc

Grenades are no where as heavy as a HAT.

I believe Speed and Stamina are linked to Spawn Kits.

In this way squads can stick together.
If some members of a squad are unable to sprint, I doubt that everyone will wait for the AT guys...
And IRL I think AT guys CAN sprint, maybe slower than another soldier, but they sprint...

there is more than one grenade and lots of other needed equipment carried by usual infantryman, while those with heavy weapons might carry less of it

you might want to look into this
RPO-A Shmel rocket infantry flame-thrower - Jane's Land Forces News
The RPO-A Shmel is a single-tube launcher normally issued in pairs joined together to be carried as a back-pack using the two slings
pack of two launchers, 22 kg
or this
the whole thing weighs 25kg without thermal imager, yet its still carried by one person

and people issued with this toys supposed to be on par with their squadmates, otherwise they are useless

Basically, the soldiers assigned to carry AT weapons or crew-served weapons (M2HB, etc) are generally not going to be carrying the other misc **** that riflemen carry. Most grunts will have a large supply of spare MG and rifle ammo, extra grenades and signal devices, spare MRE's, and just about everything else the squad needs all split up between them and humped into battle. Those "lucky" enough to be issued the AT kit don't have to carry any of the extra ****, so their overall load weight will remain about the same.

That's one of the reasons I liked being an AR. I didn't have to carry the extra 2-qt canteens and junk that everyone else did, which tended to drip all over your ruck and down your back.

For example the ERYX weight 13kg (one missile), the unit weight (7,9), thats 20 kg in your hand. Figure having 20 kg in your hand and running, and compare that with a grenade. Include the size also, obvious this units shouldn't behave equally. By doing that you give one soldiers the same ability to behave the same, but having the advantage to blow away a important asset like a tank or APC.

I think he means, that when you have it set up, and not when its on your back.

Like when you pull out the HAT, zoom in - you are not in possition, so you move. While you are moving you are running. So the OP is asking you, to take the ability to run while setting up the HAT or when it set up and you can right click to aim with it.

Yeah can see reality components that says they shouldn't be able to run as fast as other SM but PR issues that you want to keep the squad together so should all be equal.

The time you need to wait when you put it up to aim and wait for it to stabilise adds enough ability to slow down their actions to more than make up for have sprint equal.

I can see them moving as fast as regular inf with the HAT on the back, but frankly it has always looked like the HAT soldier would fall forward when he is running with the HAT deployed.

This issue is very minor though and I would prefer if the DEV team spend their time with more important stuff.

He has ONE Missile - I've only held a Javelin but it wasn't that heavy imho.

Also when it's on your back, your shoulders take the strain, and in combat you get a HUGE adrenaline rush - most AT dudes say they don't really notice the weight until afterwards.

As rudd said sprint and stamina is linked with the kit you spawn with if not some coding dudes can make there magic :)

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

I don't see any reason for this really. In fact, I think the HAT kit is enough nerfed as it is. It takes like forever to draw its weapon for no apparent reason at all, which annoys me.
