Problems joining first server???

Hi guys this is a wierd one!

Every time i join a server with m8s i get to pick a squad then get kicked "lost connection" then i cant get back into that server and it dissapears from my list

This happens each time i start PR, everything runs error free until i get to pick a squad. I can join another server no problem but even restarting will not show the target server.

It means that i have to join a random server to get kicked to enable me to join my m8s on the target server lol.

I am running W7 64bit and running game from disc installation. (not steam)

Sounds like network problem to me. Have you tried to wait this to happen wihtout joining a squad? E.g. is this really a squad related phenomenon or is it time related after all?

I can join other servers with no problem and play for ages. It always seems to be the first server i try and always i get to the same spot picking a loadout and then pressing the squad tab then next thing i get disconnected

I can then get onto another server ok but never back to the first one i try

Did a pc restart and also manually updated punkbuster plus ran game as administrator still same thing get disconnected on some servers but not others?? Wierd!

What kind of a network setup do you have?

Wired?

Straight to modem. Through a router? If a router, did you set BF2 ports open?

Did you set Win7 firewall to except BF2 traffic?

Running admin?

Hi i have wired connection to router everything is open cos i can play on PR/BF2 its just a couple i get this with and usually the first ones i pick to join lol. All other games including BF2/PR run normally apart from this problem.

What happens if you don't do anything on the first server? Do you get disconnected if you DON'T try to access the squad tab? Just load the map and wait in the kit selection screen.

Just says in yellow problem with your connection then disconnects when i idle. What gets me is that i can join in the first place plus get assigned a side. No other errors appear

Smells like network and/or firewall problem even more. Do you have any fancy 3rd party firewall or network securyity softwares installed? Or do you have integrated firewall in you network gear, like an adsl router with built-in firewall?

I dont think its my network cos i can play on other servers for ages, it just means going thru the mess of joining one or two and disconnected first
