[Suggestion] Malmo MFI-9
In the Nigerian Conflict of Biafra, Biafran rebels used the Malmo MFI-9 with mounted guns as an attack aircraft. I was thinking that we could do something similar where a small propeller plane has some .50 Cal guns or two free-fall bombs attached (napalm?). Discuss. (I will try to find more info).

i kind of like the idea but gmaeplay wise its aweful as it would be taken down in a matter of seconds and if might be overpowerd using napalm

Haha, I remeber the story. They were supplied and flown by this crazy Swedish count named Carl Gustaf von Rosen. They did quite a good job, both as CAS aircraft and they also managed to destroy quite a few Nigerian jets and bombers (not in dogfights, but amazing nontheless). Quite impressive for a few light trainer-planes with machineguns strapped on them.

I think this would be really nice. It would give the African forces some Light CAS, as well as give some jet-phile players a reason to play ARF. I can imagine a single prop plane with a 50 cal gun and two crude bombs attached. This could substitute for Attack Choppers in maps where there's an airstrip, or it could act like an Attack Huey to complement the attack chopper.
The Cessna can carry up to 1021 kg. Let's say a standard pilot and his gunner (to man the 50 cal perhaps?) weighs 130 kg.... The gun weighs 38 kg... the two bombs would weigh maybe 100 kg each... still way under the capacity.

While the Bifaran conflict is long since passed, this is certainly an interesting idea that could add a very different flavor to the ARF faction from the others.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Wait what? Propeller aircraft shooting down jets? How in the hell did they do that?

They didn't shoot them down, they destroyed them on the ground, probably at their airfields.MendozaMan wrote:Wait what? Propeller aircraft shooting down jets? How in the hell did they do that?

I'm pretty sure that a guy gunning on the propeller-craft could gun down a chopper. Definitely not jets in the air.......

Well, for ARF it seems better than using an attack helicopter. This would be a better light aircraft. Something like a CAS that goes at a slower speed, but drops a very powerful payload.

Sorry, but it's not realisable.
