The reason is we like an even playing field. Armour/attack heli's unbalance the game.Eden wrote:

a ping of about 150 is the max i see to avoid any real lagging issues.
noticed Skullening Chris coming over to my team last night when he saw how effectively we were running over bases. move squads up into position, drive round running over the reinforcements running to stop their flag being taken arty strike the flag and chuck smoke everywhere, then everybody runs at the flag and bobs-your-uncle
saw the tactic used againsat my side, then started using it ourselves to win so fast it was ridiculous.

Individually high pings don't lag the server. My server is set to 350 and I see no additional lag problems when high pings come on. I kick pings of 350 and above only because anyone with a ping like that can't really play very well and won't contribute anything to the game.
Years ago servers had to syncronize all the players so the server could only go at the speed of the best connection, but that is no longer the case.

couple of rounds 1800-1900hrs GMT today worked out better than average. still some squads not carrying out commanders orders (commander knows best! has best zoom and is juggling the whole lot of squads at once
) but both times I was commander our team won, both USMC and MEC on same map (proving there was no unbalanced map there!)
more arty and supplies needs to be called. people need to start spotting more enemy, especially vehicles, because they can acause a right pain in the bum when they get behind our lines.
but it worked, it was fun, it beats the hell out of vBF2 anyday.

Had some very good games last night. Had a couple of problem people and Tkers though but it didn't cause too much of a problem.
I wish assault guys would realise they can throw ammo though. It's soooo annoying when you need some ammo and you have an assault guy standing next to you staring into space!

I had a great game last night(i think it was last night or the night before) mattur(sp?) city, US. We had taken that docks and I had told everyone that we should defend the docks because its pointless going for any other flags, did they listen? Of cource not
It ended up that there were only 3-4 of us defending the docks at any one time, I was constantly running back and forth from the east and west entrance of the warhouse trying to keep the MEC at bay, at one point we almost lost the flag, but thanks to the dedicated defenders we got it back, needless to say they still wouldnt listen to my suggestion of defending the docks.
The round ended with the US winning and with us defender all having the highest score

This is partly due to test how often it crashes without Muttrah being on so often which is the usual problem map.
