Getting PR sounds

Post by sniperrocks »

Is there anyway to extract the weapon and vehicle sounds in PR?
I searched the files in my comp and couldn't find it anywhere!
I'm hoping I could use these sounds in future videos :D

Help? :)

(I'm sorry if somebody already asked for this, I couldn't find it through search so let me off this one time!)

Actually the sounds themselves are stored in

EA GAMES/Battlefield 2/mods/pr/common_client.zip\Sound

Their location and purpose is defined in the objects folder. The sounds themselves are in the .ogg file format which can be opened with winamp, audacity (both free) or any other ogg player.
If you need help finding any sound in particular tell me which one and I'll find its location for you. (There are a lot of sounds so finding one in particular can be tough)

Edit: Ask the devs before you use em though :P

freesound :: home page
I'm recommending this source for sounds with creative commons license (no copyright issues).

This actually saves a thread for what I was going to be posting.

For a college project I am using the 0.5 trailer and adding my own soundtrack to it, including making all my own background noises and such.

To a DEV - Is it possible to use some sounds (for example the SAW gun firing sound that I cant re-create very well) for an official PR trailer remake?

I won't be using any of the sounds till I find out the answer.
(I believe that you can use most copyrighted sounds if it is not for commercial use)

I'm using the sounds for a video just for fun :) Is it okay if I mention PR in the credits or something?
Alos, the sounds I'm looking for include reloading sounds, the snap sound when a bullet gets close to you, and the sound where you shoot a gun with no ammo :D maybe some weapon sounds too

lol, that's a fun idea :p

-edit-

I found the old one with the "I can't see trough the fucking smoke".
It's in
D:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\objects\objects_client.zip

and then in:
Vehicles/Common/radiochatter/sound/radiochatter.ogg

D:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\objects

Explore objects_client_patch1

then Vehicles/Common/radiochatter/sound

Thats the one you are looking for?
