Crash to desktop

Post by Lemon »

Here's my problem,

I start up PR, log in, load a map, play one map all fine, second map loads and then when it's done loading it crashes. No error messages. Very rarely I can play the second map as well, but mostly it crashes on the second map load.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Thanks.

By the way this post probably isnt in the right section. Would some kind moderator move it?

Try to run in windowed mode, that might give you an error message. I forget how to do that though.

Alright I'll try that. Thanks mate, I'll write back here when I've tested it.

How much RAM do you have?

When I had this problem what I had to do was up my virtual memory.

Thanks for the move bud.

I've got 6GB of ram. I'm on a 32 bit atm though so I suppose I've got 4GB then... Right?

Run PR in 'windowed' mode
If you still have problems
run PR in 'windowed' mode to see if any error messages come up
(instead of running in full screen, it runs in a 'window')
To do so
Right click on PR shortcut.
Choose properties from bottom of list.
Modify the text in your shortcut's 'target' window.
You should see this running Vista ( for XP lose the (x86):
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Change
+fullscreen 1
to
+fullscreen 0

Then Google or use 'search' on Project Reality web page for the error message you get.

Good luck
