Indigenous Forces or Iraqi National Guard

Post by nerdmonkey »

I think that on some levels it would be cool to have local forces complimenting American troops or just by themselves. They would have weapons like the AK 74 and would be lightly armored, but would be able to use enemy weapons and vehicles a lot easier. I don't know if this is possible, but I would love to see it. :D

I don't think it is possible. The teams are determined in the level editor and it would also split up the players too much to the point that teams would be too small. The editor only allows there to be two teams. So unless you change the editor you can't change the number of teams. I may be wrong though.

Would it be possible to have them as a kit, not a team? Like you can choose between assault, support, sniper, or indigenous forces? I don't know about the capabilities of the engine, do you know if it is possible to have different skins on the same team? Or do teammates just have different backpacks or something?

the problem with that, is that the indegineous forces would still speak english instead of Arabic. fh has a map with bits and french classes on allies side, but they all speak english.

I think that is still ok because IRL the indigenous forces that would be working with US soldiers would be the ones that spoke english. Anyways, with BF2 it will all be VOIP, so everyone will sound like whatever they sound like IRL. You might actually have somebody speaking Arabic for the indigenous forces, lol.

Actually, the troops most likely to be working with indigenous forces in the closest capacity are Army Special Forces operators, who are qualified in one or more of the predominant languages of their SF Group's area of operation. If regular troops are working in conjunction with indigenous, it is likely one or two SF soldiers (or possibly CIA Military Special Projects officers) are there to act as translators/liaisons. If not, one of the indigenous officers may be the translator/liaison.

An Iraqi soldier or police skin would actually be pretty intresting to see in Battlefield 2. I Personally like the idea very much...
