Ability for Insurgent CO to detonate his hideout

I think the insurgent CO should be able to detonate his hideout, with the blast being similar to that of the Artillery IED.

This would give the CO a great tool to fend off pesky Americans that come to try and kill his hideout ;)

I don't think the insurgent commander is a villain from a 007 movie with a self destruct system for his bases.

You could accomplish something similar with some IEDs and patience though, might be worth trying as a sapper.

and what is blowing up his hidout supposed to do??? .... ( albasrah behind a wall ) mass teamkill??? i dont get it..
or even Archer ... USA cant go close to the main i dont think sooo what the point ... wouldnt that also just blow up the hidout? ... you should prlbly just take this thread down :)

No.. the point is that if an enemy squad is approaching to destroy his hideout, he can blow himself up (with a blast the size of the ARTILLERY IED!), committing suicide to take the enemies' lives.

You realize that COs can command from ANY hideout now, right?

Redmare the commander can go to any hideout and use it as a Command post. I don't think this is a good idea personally as your supposed to be vunerable, by having the ability to willy nilly just blow yourself up and killing any blufor near by takes away any reward of killing hideouts.

Are you kidding me? As Insurgent I make it a POINT to be suicidal, constantly, and only taking 1-2 Blufor with me.. but if I could take a whole squad, or even 1-2 people, I definitely would do it. Especially if they were about to blow me up by killing my hideout..

And anyway, you can hit caps-lock when in the command screen to look out the window of the hideout and see anyone out there.

How does this make sense from a realism standpoint? I haven't seen any news reports of coalition forces coming close to capturing insurgent commanders, and those commanders blowing themselves up to avoid capture. Do you have anything to substantiate this?

I'm sure it happens in real life. But all that would be reported is another IED blast happening.

And yes you can see out the front of the hideout while commanding, so it would be possible to use it effectively.

Its and interesting idea, I'm undecided if it would be good or bad tho.

noobs sometimes makes hideouts too close to the cache. the commander should have the abillity to destroy them so that serious players can make them 150m away
