If the M1A1 is replacing the current M1A2...

Post by dtacs »

Where will the drivers view be?

(This is the picture Chuc released of the USI M1A1 on Kashan, its my assumption that the M1A2 will be removed)

Changed back to the old position under the turret, or will it be under the .50 (commanders position), with imaginary zooming periscopes?

For those that don't know, the CITV is that little cylindrical dome on top of the Abrams, which the M1A1 does not have.

It's not replacing anything, the M1A1 will be used by USMC and M1A2 by US Army. /leak :/

Question still stands.

If they are not at liberty to say, this thread can be locked. Sure they are though if the information of it being IN the game has been leaked.

If my info is correct, the USI model has been updated to the M1A2.
You be blown away with what these guys did to it.

The Driver/Commander will have 2 views, but what exactly those are I'm not saying as it should be left to the creators to show and tell.

I don't think there will be a M1A1.

So that picture is completely irrelevant?

It`s an old picture from a few months ago, so it`s likely that some things are going to be different upon release.

Im pretty sure you can add a CITV to a A1, its just the A2 come with it already installed.

Yes and no. The M1A1 commander receives a thermal sight in the AIM upgrade, but it is attached coaxially to the left of his MG; it is not the same as the CITV on the M1A2. That would require a re-manufactured or new-build turret.

Pretty sure the drivers view is under the turret in the M1A2 Abrams. The CITV is for the commander and can be used to relay target information to the gunner.

I know in the M1A1 it is for sure, as you can see in my signature, I got to play with one. :)

So, maybe one under the turret as "Driver", and one in the CITV as "Commander" probably swapped by using C?

Sort of like how the BRDM's camera works.

But there isn't a CITV on the M1A1, so technically you'll be looking out of nothing.

Unless like I said before they do the magical 'zooming periscopes' (which are just viewing ports essentially) on the commanders position, under the .50 cal.

Pic related, on the left is periscopes.

If a DEV could please clear this up that would be awesome, its not really that important but I'm tearing my hair out over it ;)

[R-DEV]Ztrooper modelled both a CITV and reactive armour tiles a while back. There will be both A1 and A2 variants featured depending on the scenario.
