PB can be tricky

first up is the standard fix PunkBuster Online Countermeasures update pb manually using the downloads in that link

if that doesnt work, make sure your firewall isn't blocking pb, and ensure that your router isn't blocking it either

This needs to be posted in the tech help forums, also do you have any more info, like any messages?

PB is a hazzle, thats why you use acronyms to encourage your own discontent with it.

Like.

Piss bucket etc.

But what i usually do, is just uninstall PB, before i play. And it works... Strange as it is.

All my bunkbuster problems went away when i reformatted (as in changed os- cleaned out the comptuer from scratch)... i had every problem, now i have none, same happens when i moved to a new computer..
if i were you i would try and update punkbuster for every punkbuster compatable game you have, that may be it, XD

Alright then.

I'll return with results.

Results:

Nothing.

Also, pnkbstrA doesn't show up in Task manager.

Downloading the latest version doesn't work either, I have Vista so if that's the problem then...oh god. > :(

When I ran Project Reality as Administrator, I lasted about ONE exact minute before receiving:

Download punkbuster services and the updater. Sometimes a restart works too.

Punkbuster services and an updater?

Hell, give me the DIRECT link to the Vista 64-bit pnkbstr updater and I'll get it, because evenbalance doesn't have it, just Linux.

Check if your firewall is blocking it.

I use NOD32 (2.7), and I don't see how I can get access to the firewall, if it has one.

The link on the website is for both 32 and 64-bit Windows versions I believe. I've been kicked repeatably for the past few days because of that. If your firewall isn't doing it, download Pb Services, uninstall your services, then reinstall it. Then update bf2 via pb setup.

I ran it (when I showed you guys that error that was the time I ran it) as Administrator, I lasted a minute, and then pnkbstrB heartbeats stopped :(

Also, guys, I cannot see the pnkbstr in the Firewall Exceptions list.
