So, another suggestion for you folks...
Why not allow "smoke" artillery missions as a new commander option? (separate to HE arty)
Some reasons:
1. increase commander usefullness
2. realism
3.tactical use in covering squads or simply "smoking out" fortress campers

Re: Artillery firing smoke?
Interesting. I have always liked having smoke grenades and their use is widely underestimated.
Being able to lay down a smoke barrage gives the commander yet another tactical tool. If called in by officer for correct emplacement it could be fairly accurate too. We've seen Dbzao demonstrate the new nice version of the radio commo rose and since it is possible to do a scroll selection it should be possible to choose arty type request.
One of the obvious "exploits" would be to use the smoke barrage to point out targets to CAS of course.
Other then that I wouldn't mind smoking a sniper on a mountain "Now where was that sheer cliiiiiiiffffffffff.... ... .. . "
I like the idea at first thought.

People without imagination, consideration and plain lacking any *ation makes me question Gods Great plan.

Re: Artillery firing smoke?
I'd certainly enjoy this
I can imagine being under fire, no support readily avaliable, I'd call down smoke on the enemy and run away.
But I'm afraid its a resuggestion mate, lets see what happens to this project
