Oh thank you! I really hope it works. It's been a sad story with civilians...

In my opinion, it's partly up to the server admins to take care of the problem. If I ran a PR server, I'd strictly forbid civilian kills. Hard to control, but maybe the threat of 'real' punishment, i.e. kick/ban, would help a bit.

So, to answer the original question: Don't shoot them unless you are forced to because they are used as human shields or are inside suicide cars or sth.

wtf? Doesnt the coalition team bleed 7 tickets when they kill a civi? I just arrest them if I'm close but I dont shoot them if they're far. Does good for your team.

The name of their class implies that they are in fact insurgents... :-(

The thing is that I started this thread because I never shoot them unless they are making trouble for me. If they are trying to trick my guys into capturing them I just shoot them even if they have their hands up. I have read the manual and I think that shooting them causes to problems for the blufor. But the reason I don't shoot them is that I want more people to play civilian. Because when I am on the insurgent team I really want more civis. So when I am playing blufor I treat them nice so that more people would want to play them. But they really have no power at all except healing friendlies. So I think there should be a new thing that people get a penalty WHENEVER they shoot them.

They are UNARMED. You just don't shoot people if they are UNARMED. Even if they are helping the insurgents by healing them, you still shouldn't shoot them. You shoot the insurgent then arrest the civilian. Never shoot a civilian. In my squad, if I witness one of my guys kill a civilian, I will kick them.

I think what he meant by tricking is that there might be an insurgent lurking close by, or using the civi as a body shield. Or.. the civi pulls out rocks, which can be somewhat deadly

Shoot them.

Because they are not blufor, are in a combat area, and are therefore clearly fair game under the laws of armed conflict.

Best way to handle civvies is wounding them, no question about it :-P . Wounded civilian is out of action some time while he have to heal himself. You may also save intel points when hurted civilian is killed by civikiller coz civi was healing up while get killed

Read Sniper one, a dicker can be just as dangerous as a man with a rifle. Hence why they shot an "unarmed man"

There should be female collaborator insugrents like that they won't get killed. Who wants to shoot a woman anyway?

You can make a gazillion of threads about civilians, it won't change a bit: BLUFOR will still shoot on sight !
The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities... It is best to win without fighting.

And that is why the hands up animation was put in so when you see an american/brit and he sees you put your hands up and usually your not shot. I was only shot once doing it and thats because he knew i had just healed a team mate.

EDIT: Can anyone confirm they have cut the respawn time of the collaborators now I really enjoy playing as them but the wait after dieing is long.

I agree with him if hes talking about in PR.

Like so many others who kill civis I couldn't care less about the penalties, they are healing and giving grapples when I'm not looking, hes better off dead.

Screw finding cache intel, so many idiots fire RPGs and AKs off of caches that its easier to find them that way to be honest.
