Put shovel in #9 weaponslot

i am not 100% sure if it is already done in 0.9 but it would make sense to swap the incendiary granade for the Shovel so that the shovel is in the weaponslot 9 since it is not used as much as the incendiary granade it should be placed out of sight.

just a small fix

already confirmed the field dressing is slot 9 as its in all kits.

I use my Shovel more than my Incendiary grenade ;)

difference is that you may need to select your inc grenade quickly, whereas your shovel is generally used very deliberately

Why?

Main use for it is to destroy Fire Bases or FB defences, you should have already cleared the area when you take out an FB ;)

Yeah...I won't destroy the FB/cache/idle enemy vehicle I'm next to until squads 2, 3 and 4 report there are no enemies within 100m of my location.

Heck, better wait until the enemy are all hiding in their main from teh securredness that you will ensure is present before ever taking your incendiary grenade out.

on the other hand, gotta hve that shovel ready at any given time for the unexpected advance of stuff to build.

or you run in there and throw the thing before someone is able to shoot you... like most players unfortunatly

Erm... you do know it takes longer to use the scrolly thing then to just whack 9? or 2? there's no difference....

Also, when you attack an FB, with your squad, you're kind of... supposed to clear the area? just taking out the FB achieves nothing, killing everyone, taking down the FB, and either holding/moving out as the situation dictates, is how to take down a FireBase...

Also, wth? There should be NO POINT where you are doing something with your Inc. grenade quickly - if there's a requirement for speed then that means the enemy is bearing down on you - should really have your rifle out ready to fight rather than be thinking "Must kill teh carz and FBz to get maselfz points"

I usually just take down the FOB, supplies and anything else that might help them rebuild and then get the heck outta there :p

there is convenience, one is move convienient than the other, not by much I grant you, but it would help certain players.

duh, doesn't mean that an enemy cannot hide nearby, especially on certain maps like OGT.

ingame, textbook tactics don't cover you for all eventualities.

Sure, you secure the FB, you are walking towards it, suddenly a enemy squad that was en route to help their collegues arrives, your SL wishes to withdraw due to the enemy's newfound strength. the FB is no longer secure, doesn't mean you aint gonna blow it up.

Its such a tiny change that could help quite a few players as in my mind there are plenty of instances when having your incendiary rather than your shovel would be rather useful, withdrawing, destroying enemy supplies during an engagement if there is danger of being overrun or pushed back etc.

Players use the most appropriate tactics to their situation its never as clean ingame as "oh, just do X to Z 100% of the time"

Because pressing 9 takes SO long doesn't it?


It's a pretty useless suggestion, a small change that will make in a tiny weeny bit quicker, by about a tenth of a second maybe?

If you don't have a tenth of a second to take down the FB - something's gone wrong.

Also suddenly the enemy squad pop out - whether the grenade is 9 or 2 it'll be exactly the same, do you REALLY think it makes that much difference? Anyway, much better to press 3, or 4, and perhaps... fight the squad?

Also why don't you just change it so 9 is your second weapon and 2 is your 9th? No point in changing it mandatory when it's something you can do if you so wish.

wouldn't really bother me either way but still having the incediary [sp] as #2 is more convient, it's more likely to be used in a hurry then a shovel.


personally i'd prefer field dressing as #2 so it's quick and easy and convient to get it when i need it

i use my my shovel more often but i would like the shovel moved up the food chain a bit. its anoying sometimes im sneeking up on some guys and right behind them and bang! im trying to beat some one to death with a shovel instead of my intended knife.

when your building you sould be in a secure enviroment so theres not much hussle. you can take your eyes off the screen look down and press 2.

but when youre in the S**T time is everything you cant take your eyes of the screen to look for a 9 and then press 8 by acidnt.

thats just my view on the situation.

Not a big thing, but I agree with the point of quick access to the incendiary grenade, more then the shovel. But the shovel is in the same slot as the pistol for officers, and that is sometimes very important to get out quickly . No matter what happens the incendiary grenade should be in the same slot for all kits. All in all I'd say leave it as it is, the system is working good enough.
