Project Reality To Have Better Sound Effects
I am really grateful how PR has great Sound Effects ingame but i think the sound effects add to the atmosphere more than anything. And After watching this

i know its a brand new engine i know its dumb because bf2 wont be able to do the same. But what i request is to add more background sounds and extra effects that make you go in the atmosphere. These effects will add to the gameplay really much.
Or add high quality atmosphere sounds or anykind of new explosion sounds.
Related Suggestions would be appreciated on this topic

Do you mean the echoing of the guns after being fired and the falling trees etc?
or do you mean that deaf feeling when a grenade explodes beside you?
I guess the main reason PR doesnt have it because you dont usually have huge firefights like that

Yeah, you can't exactly expect PR to have the same sound effects as BF-BC 2, but more atmospheric effects would be great. Improved walking/running noises possibly based on terrain context are something the game could really use . Ambient "Forest" noises would also be nice.Rezza wrote:I am really grateful how PR has great Sound Effects ingame but i think the sound effects add to the atmosphere more than anything. And After watching this

I'm currently considering buying a directional mic, So I might be able to offer some high-quality sound effects for the devs in the near future

I like how it is now, the only sounds you hear are those of acctual fighting going on, there is no ambient fighting noises. It seems more real this way. Not every second of a battle are there explosions and bullets going off near your face. I like that when I am MEC on muttrah, I can hear a hellfire missle hitting on the other side of the map and know the cobra is up and we need to be cautious.

I am not telling that they should put a sound of something that isnt there i am just telling that the sound effects of PR should and can be improved. So they have a better feeling

I really have to say, I think you're preaching to the choir here.
It's like me making a thread and just saying, "You should make project reality realistic."
They are trying their best man, and have already introduced plenty of new sounds. It's almost like you're saying, "You guys haven't done a good job, do better." Do you have anything to contribute?

One thing I really want to know about those BC2 videos is whether or not all those sounds are "live". They very well could be, which is extremely impressive because it means the new dissipation algorithms they're using are spectacular. Not to mention the indoor-reverb system they have going which, again, sounds great (the one in BF2 is buggy, only takes place in weird circumstance and sound pretty bad which is why our use of it is minimal).
The audio experience we aim for in PR is to try and keep everything "real-time", that was the whole concept when we embarked on hacking in distant sounds.

I was also wondering if those were real sounds.Yes your aim is right it was a great addition for PR when the distanced sounds came but when i watched that BC2 video i was blown away from the audio the gameplay is shitty for me but even with my eyes closed i was there[R-DEV]Jaymz wrote:One thing I really want to know about those BC2 videos is whether or not all those sounds are "live". Talk about adding some ambience noises, like moving trees, wind, birdies, cows, animals, insects, that'd be SWEET.

I think the running sound can be improved. Right now its just like the bumps of the feet but maybe you can add in the equipment and clothing noise. The soldier carries huge amount of equipment and it would be nice to hear/feel it.

iIreally liked it when they screamed thigns out when they got shot at. I think this is a very cool thing to have, for example when a tnak blows up your screen should skahe within a 25 meter radius of the tank and your guys could swear or shout "get down" in whatever language they have.

Its better not to have automatic shouting imo, though i would like it for immersion
One idea is to have the option that like in vBF2 any man can call out a target but it doesnt appear on map. E.G if i saw a enemy tank coming towards me i can use the "contact report" icon to shout out to anyone in the area "Tank incoming" but there is no map marker so people around know theres a tank just not where until a SL marks it
