The Ups and Downs of Squad leading: Follow my orders, darn it!

I'm not trying to make a rant here, But it seems like leading an organized squad on insurgency mode is starting to be just about impossible! generally insuregency maps begin with some organized group squad movement, but quickly degenerate into an uncordinated bundle. ??:

What am I doing wrong here?

I give clear orders over VOIP and provide map markers, welcome every new member to the squad and tell them the current situation, build hideouts near objectives to center in dead squad members, and kick squad members if they start going all over the place while giving them my condolances, but nothing seems to work for long!

Seems like the only time I can keep them together is if the squad is under immediate fire near a spawn location, or if the squad has access to multi-seat transport

Is Insurgency Squadleading all about individual as opposed to group actions? you tell me!

I find you have to be assertive, but since that's not part of my nature I tend to fail at squad leading. It is very hard to do it on pub servers no matter how hard you try. The whole of PR is about group actions, but I guess most pubbers don't have the attention span to keep the teamwork going for long...

every squad leader has these problems, i like my SMs to have quite a bit of freedom, but sometimes people will straight out ignore me
i put it like this, if you do the exact opposite of what i tell you or you ignore me, you get kicked from the squad.

It's more that when people play as insurgents, they have got it into their minds that their weapons are terrible, and that their only chance is to plant mines everywhere and charge aimlessly at the enemy.

While it's very fun to put your AK on Full Auto, pop out from behind a wall and blaze away at a US squad from the hip - it doesn't get you anywhere, I think most people forget this.

Also tell em that they won't get their virgins if they don't listen to you.

group, but players most likely run off. if they do, warn them followed by a kick. INS is more 'relaxed' than conventional granted, but still.

in conventional games, be strict. you give a player any leeway and he will abuse it. i normally say:

"25m from me at all times, or i kick you."

keeps em close. if not, i kick them.

Personally, I hate those powertripping SL's/CO's who doesn't realize that you don't have to be within 25 meters of the squald leader 24/7 to be a good team player.

i hate players that run off more than 25m of me, it almost 90% of the time ends in fail.

for example, a man goes down in a fight. i want my squad to hold around him whistle medic gets him up and heals him. 'mcnooby noob' decided to attack the enemy and dies 30m away, i want to pull back but yet have to push the squad forward to get him up, losing more men and tickets.

yes, it might seem "powertripping" but i want my squad with me at ALL times, i want them visible to me at ALL times, and i want them to response to my commands in a moments notice.

I know how to play this game, i want my squad to do exactly what i tell them to do as the chances are im bloody better than they are at this game, i want my squad members to do EXACTLY what i tell them to , the instant i tell them. if they dont like it, they can join another squad (chances are, ive kicked them already)

Problem is that very few squadleaders care about their squadmembers running of doing their own thing when playing as insurgents. It has become a bad habit that every insurgtents can do whatever they like... BUT the truth is: No medic in the squad: No teamwork. There's simply no reason for them to stick together. I'm sure if you took away the medic from all forces you would see the exact same behavior.

If you can get a civi on your squad and make HIM to stick close to you (yeah I know it's near impossible to find a volunteer) you will find that almost the whole team will be following you.

its all dynamic.
i rather have 3 experienced PR players running off alone for the objective or whatever is important in their eyes than all the 5 sons of "mr and mrs literal" in my squad.
but then having 5 badass devils running along with a 20/1 KD in my squad but not being able to place a rallypoint is a headache aswell.
usually i can keep the squad running if i know very exactly what i do, doing it good and having fun by doing it.
but if i run out of patience after a while or loose concentration ppl tend to do their own stuff.

Go online -> deploy -> go to tactical gamer -> "You have been kicked because you exist" -> Argh!

All the time. It gets almost kafkaesque...

In insurgency mode, it's all about personal weapons preference. Some like running around with the AK and have direct firefights with the enemy. I for example prefer the sapper, laying my mines and traps and IEDs in my prefered hotspots, waiting for my targets and sometimes shooting lonewolves and sniper if they get in my view. I also provide Intel of enemy movements in my area.
So you should name your squad for what you want to do (like "AK Team" or "IED Burners").
Teams for direct action should stick together, while Sapper squads should spread as far as needed. If you allow a mixed squad, it will get screwed up very soon, you'll have to live with that.

you can hate me all you want, it still doesn't stop me from being right. you dont have to be with me 24/7. but for the hour or so your in my section, you WILL be within or around 25m's of me at all times. victory in this game is won by weight. weight of fire, weight of numbers and weight of motion. we, even in this game are still bound by the holy trinity of infantry.
1-firepower:
2-manouverbility
3-survivability
you must have a balance between these forces to be effective on the modern battlefield, and when one person jeopardizes the balance by going off task, that reduces my effectiveness as a NCO. it's called a section for a reason and if you cant figure that out, then your just a toe-tag waiting for a body bag.
