Alt + F4 : Possibly the cause of my problems?

Just a question...I've been Alt + F4'ing out of some PR games to get back to my desktop quickley (usually in a rush / don't feel like waiting)

However, sometimes or most of the time I get either the "Initialization failed" or "Handshaking failed" message the next time I play & join a server.

Could the Alt + F4'ing possibly be causing this problem??
I know how to fix it (Uninstall then install PB) but I just wanna know what's causing it.

This is a Punkbuster issue, I assume?
I would guess that this is *probably* not related to your alt-f4 habit. Try updating punkbuster for BF2, see if that helps. If it doesn't, well, you can join us folks in the persistent punkbuster issue club.

yeah it is punkbuster :/

I have been updating it almost every time before I play but it says there aren't any new updates.

Then i join a server, in it (really laggy) for about a min. Then get the PB error message sayin that Initialization failed or Handshaking failed.

Then I go outta game, uninstall then reinstall pbsvc, and it works again.

I think PR would maybe be a little better by just getting rid of PB as a whole O_o

Yeah, that's kind of an attitude I've developed due to my PR punkbuster issues that refuse to go away.
In theory, PB is nice, but it causes a lot of problems, unlike, say, the VAC.
