Hello,
every time after I join a server, it loads the map, then crashes to desktop. I have the current version of PR and BF2. The only things I have changed were the controls settings and I have updated my PB client. I have played PR before and everything was fine... I run Windows 7 x32 bit Ultimate. I have tried deleting my account and retrieving it - didn't work.
Thanks for all helpers ^^

Does this happen for both local and internet?

Re: Crash To Desktop after map loads
If you still have trouble run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files
Still no joy?
Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.
That dog still won't hunt?
OK
Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder.
Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001
Use search for 'windows 7' to review recommended settings.
( I think it is 'run as admin' and do not run in compatibility mode, but check it)
When asking for help,
please remember to post your:
O/S,
systems specks,
network setup
And a brief history before and after problem started.
Please describe when your CTD or problem hits and
what you have already tried.
The most common causes of CTD are:
Failure to uninstall any previously installed versions of PR.
This can easily be done via the Windows Control Panel
'Add and Remove Programs' icon, under "Project Reality 0.x".*,
then delete the PR folder to remove any leftover files.
Don't forget to delete the desktop short as well.
PRv.87 uses 2 installers. You must install both 'core' and 'levels'.
It is recommended that you restart your system after you install/uninstall programs
to ensure all installed components, files and registry entries are correctly installed or removed.
BF2 not updated to v 1.41 before patching with v1.5
FULL update 1.41Final v1.5
Some have posted Updating with the
1.5 update
Sometimes does not complete, but looks like it does.
To find your version of BF2
run PR in 'windowed' mode
Look at the upper left corner
you should see
v.1.5.3153-802.0
Incomplete install of 'Core' & 'Levels'
Project Reality v 0.87 uses TWO separate Client Installers and should be installed in this order.
Core first and followed by Levels.
(Use the 'levels' installer to make a desktop short cut.)
If you get any errors, download a new installer from a different source and try again.
Compatibility mode to xp and run as admin not set in desktop shortcut on Vista PCs
Right click shortcut
choose 'properties' from bottom of list
Click on the Compatibility 'tab'(along the top of the window)
Check 'run as admin' box, select WINDOWS XP(service pack 2
Never hurts to review the Project Reality v0.87 Installation Guide
Hope you find something useful,
Good luck and

Re: Crash To Desktop after map loads
Try to lower your graphic settings, I had the same problem with Windows 7 for some days ago. I changed Anti-Aliasing from 2x to nothing. That solved my problem.
