Game Freezes upon first flight?

I've searched and not found anything, so here goes...

Whenever I attempt to fly an air vehicle (Jets and Choppers) for the first time in game it freezes for up to ten seconds, always resulting in myself crashing...

Does anybody else have this problem, or does anyone know how to fix it?

Post your graphics settings and system. It is likely that your system cannot handle it when you get in the aircraft, especially if you are running highish graphics. Try lowering your settings and see if that stops it.

Also does it occur on a local server for you as well? It may be a ping issue which would mean you need to play on a server closer to you or get a better internet connection.
